Cake

I made this for my wife. Chocolate icing, chocolate cake and chocolate ganache filling. Small leaves under the top border. The icing was not as smooth as I'd like it, and I my grapes sorta sucked (wrong angle on the bag). I realized this too late. I've only been at this for about a month, so Im learning. Any helpful hints are appreciated. I wanted to cover the cake board, but I was assured that it would not last long enough to go to the trouble.
Looks good to me! My mouth is watering....... :)
It's beautiful! Great Job!
It looks great and your icing looks plenty smooth to me...great job!
It looks great! I wish I could get my shells that even and uniform. I also think the grapes are nice. The only suggestion I would make is after the frosting sets a little you can gently push down on the grape dots and that will get rid of the little point.
i think it looks great and yummy too! i agree w/ crp7 about pushing down the dots on the grapes. I dip my finger in a little bit of corn starch or powdered sugar so my finger doesn't stick.
I'll try that, my finger stuck to it, so I gave up and blamed it on solar flares.
Great job...and sounds so yummy too!!
I use a tiny paint brush and dip it in cf sugar....lovely cake btw!
Great job on the smooth icing!
You are a funny funny man! I'm cracking up over here! This looks just delicious and what a lucky wife you have! Forget the knife and fork, I'd just dive into it!
All that chocolate has got to be good--have any single brothers? Good job--lucky wife.
Nah, they are all taken...besides..they cant even make cake. Sure, they can fly an jumbo jets for a living..but can they make frosting?
Oh, this is a beautiful cake! Wonderful job, and your wife is SO lucky!
Only at for a month??? I've been doing cakes for 15+ years and just recently found how to get it as smooth as yours is. Great job and I agree that it wouldn't last long around my house.
Yummy to the tummy !!!
That is absolutely beautiful! And if my husband even tried to bake me ANYTHING, I would be oh so impressed.
