Very Nice Job! I just did my first impression mat over the weekend, but mine doesn't look as nice as yours - what is the secret?
No secret. Just get the frosing smooth, let it crust and lightly press it in. The smoother the frosting, the better it looks.
I'm jealous of your reverse shells.

any crusting buttercream, from shortening to cream cheese, any will work.
