Damian's 3Rd Birthday - Cars Theme
Damian LOVES the Cars movie, so for this little boy's third birthday, his mother wanted a big cake shaped like a three that looked like a highway on which he could put some of his toys from the Cars movie. This cake was half white w/blondie filling and half chocolate w/fudge brownie filling, frosted with vanilla buttercream, covered and decorated with fondant. The Cars logo was done using the frozen buttercream transfer method.

Ramp made of cereal treats covered in MMF. 3D skater boys sculpted from gumpaste and fondant.

Pretty In Pink
I know the title is overused, but it really is pretty in pink... although a little bumpy... ugh! Anyway, it's a five-inch lemon cake filled and frosted with white chocolate ganache, covered with fondant. Roses made from dark modeling chocolate. This was actually a "White Elephant" gift... it was funny when we were passing it around because I had written all over the wrapping paper, "This side up! Do not shake! Do not tip! Do not drop!" Everyone was joking and one said, "If it starts smoking or ticking, I'm outta here!" The lady who ended up with it was thrilled to get it, and said it was "just darling." She was even happy it was lemon, so it turned out just perfect.

Green Vines And Leaves
Two-tier cake; top tier is five-inch round lemon cake filled with white chocolate ganache, frosted with lemon-flavored IMBC; bottom tier is eight-inch round white cake filled and frosted with IMBC. Both tiers covered in fondant. Piping done with IMBC. Flowers handmade using white modeling chocolate. This cake was DELICIOUS!!! This was my first time attempting to make Italian meringue buttercream, and I was very pleased with the results.

So Long, Sheriff!
Made for a going-away party for a local police officer. This was a huge cake - 26 inches across; 2-inch round with six 6-inch triangles to make the points of the star. Client wanted the cake to look like their badge with the seal of the state of Missouri in the center and the banners across the top and bottom of the star. Cake was chocolate, filled with chocolate ganache, frosted with chocolate buttercream on the sides and vanilla buttercream on top. Seal and banners done using the frozen buttercream transfer technique. Everyone at the party was really impressed.

Ruby Wedding Anniversary
A friend of mine wanted me to make this cake for her parents. She was not too picky - she knew she wanted a big red bow, black swirls and red flowers. I came up with the rest. Cake is strawberry with strawberry cream cheese filling, frosted and decorated with buttercream. Bows, drape and the number 40 are made from gumpaste. Thanks for looking.

Green Tractor In A Green Field :-)
A friend of mine asked me to make a tractor cake for her dad;s birthday. She wanted a green tractor and a grassy field, and here is what she got. The cake is a 10-inch round, dark chocolate chip with buttercream frosting and filling. All decorates are done in buttercream. The tractor was done using the frozen buttercream transfer method. My only real problem was the light spots that appeared after the buttercream thawed. I only left it in the freezer for 30 minutes, so I am not sure why this happened. The only thing I can figure is it has something to do with the salt in the buttercream. This was my first attempt at FBT, though, so overall I was pretty happy with it.

Beaded Tulip Design
Double chocolate chip 10-inch cake filled and frosted with creamy dark chocolate ganache, decorated with vanilla buttercream colored red, pink, orange, aqua blue and green. This cake was for no special occasion. Just had the idea in my head and wanted to try it out. I LOVE the way it came out. No stencil used... all piped freehand. It was FUN and took FOREVER to do! Thanks for looking!!!

Ashley & Nathan
This is the big wedding cake I had been gearing up for for the past eight months! I am very happy with the way it turned out, and so was the bride! It's a 12, 10, 8, 6 inch 4-tier square, half chocolate chocolate chip filled with chocolate buttercream, half white filled with vanilla buttercream, all frosted with buttercream. Ribbon and bows are dark brown satin; used corsage pin to fasten. Everything else on the cake is edible. All flowers are handmade 50/50 fondant/gumpaste, . The monograms and dark brown leaves are dark modeling chocolate. Beads around base of tiers are royal icing. Side cakes are 6-inch square. I have learned so much since my first wedding cake, and thanks to all the inspiration and tutorials I found on this website. I can;t wait to do another wedding cake! None on the books yet, but 26 of my 50 business cards got snagged at the wedding, so hopefully I will get some calls. Thanks for looking!!!

Dahlia With Frills
Okay... this was me playing around. I had an idea to make a tall cake with a ruffled effect. It did not turn out quite the way I had it in my head, but they never do. Anyway, I then attempted to tackle making a Dahlia flower out of gumpaste. I had a picture from a calendar that showed a close-up of a real Dahlia, and that is what I used as a guide. I want to attempt this design again now that I have learned what works... and what does not! Anyway - it is a 5-inch round, four layers high (so about 7 inches tall). Thanks for looking!

Wwe Wrestling Birthday Cake
This cake was for Zeke who was celebrating his eighth birthday. It's a 10-inch chocolate square, filled with chocolate buttercream, covered with vanilla buttercream. The ring floor is covered with fondant to give support for the little action figures his sister (the one who hired me) wanted to put on the cake so they wouldn't sink in. All lettering and the logo is made of fondant. The chairs are made of gumpaste. The corner posts were made up fondant, but they never dried hard enough and kept bending under the weight of my Twizzler Pull-n-Peel ropes, hence the ugly yellow strings. I had such a picture of this cake in my head, and it did not live up... but I learned a lot, and Zeke;s sister was thrilled with it; I am sure Zeke will be as well. Oh well...
