Grapes For Children ~ Sugar Art For Autism Collaboration
Grapes for Children was inspired by the art work of Amanda LaMunyon. I was drawn to the rich colours and shadows and light that bounced off the grapes. Honoured to have participated in this worthy collaboration. Please check our fb page to see all of the wonderful creations. Awareness is Acceptance. I used a bead mould for the grapes, separated them and clustered them together with a little water and then sprayed them with glaze. The leaves were grape vine leaf cutters and the base was my weathered paint effect. TYFL

Autumn
Inspired by the orange hues of Autumn. I've been working on a PDF tutorial for this cake design and really (hoping) to have it in the shop by the weekend. It's a step by step - how to of all the elements shown ~ Mountain Ash berries, Peach Amaryllis, closed Peonies, frosted leaves, pleated petal tier, and glamour crackle. I hope it will be useful. Thanks for looking xx

This was my contribution to the Go Pink - A Collaboration of Edible Art. It was inspired by soft seersucker and fleece linens. Please stop by our fundraising page. The raffle prizes are fabulous and runs throughout the month of October! https://give.bcrfcure.org/fundraise?fcid=677311 Huge thanks to Satin Ice for their generosity and to all the sponsors who've donated towards this worthy cause. xx

Sweet Periwinkle
Sweet Periwinkle Collaboration We are 18 cake designers from around the world who came together to bring awareness and the message of hope for Eating Disorder Recovery. February 1, 2016 marks the beginning of Eating Disorder Awareness month, symbolized by a periwinkle flower to honour the periwinkle awareness ribbon. Our medium is sugar and our message is the hope of recovery for anyone touched by an eating disorder. My design was symbolism of a seemingly delicate flower yet this periwinkle flower was standing tall with hope and finding strength within…with the assistance of love, support, encouragement, and understanding for recovery of this serious illness. The pieces from the Sweet Periwinkle collaboration , I felt…were created and conveyed with much respect and such emotion. You can view the Sweet Periwinkle page to see all of the creations. https://www.facebook.com/sweetperiwinklecollab/?fref=ts Thank you so very much Shannon Bond for the invitation to participate, for such a meaningful cause. It truly was an honour to have been amidst you all. xx

Fantasy Poinsettia
I referred to Nicholas Lodge's Sweet Seasons class for the magenta poinsettia. I used a cookie stencil for the herringbone pattern and the top and bottom tier is a texture that I did a tutorial for with Icing Smiles Canada. They should be releasing their e booklets in 2016. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!! xx
