Dug The Armadillo
My sister calls me up this Tuesday and says "how quickly can you make me a cake" I say "depends on what kind of cake you want." She then proceeds to tell me that she and a close friend were drinking on night and this friend told my sister that all she wanted for her birthday was a armadillo cake like from Steel Magnolias and that was what my sister wanted to do for her. Not wanting dissapoint my sister or pass up the opportunity to make a potentially awesome cake I said yes and off to the store I went. It is a red velvet cake (of course) sculpted and covered with cream cheese icing then gray fondant that I had hand texturized with a small circle cutter and the bone tool. I dont have and air brush machine or I would have sprayed him for more dimention in the grooves. The client LOVED the cake and named it Dug cause its cuteness reminded her of the dog from th movie Up.

Sleep And Snuggle
This cake I made for my fondant and gumpaste class via wilton. I used the jewelery box technique to make the bassinette and used the embosers that come with the class to make the rug and a boarder technique they used in the book and the blanket draping. I really enjoyed making the baby which was not part of the class but I was able to complete thanks to Lorraine McKay.

Bakugan Dragonoid Cake
This cake was requested to me and I had a great time making it. I lightened the cake by using an easter egg in the center of the body. Then covered the egg with red gumpaste and shaped then neck and tail. After it dried I added the belly plates and let that dry upsidedown then added the tail and back plates. the wings dried seperatly and I added the veins and arms to it then attached them to the body. The Bakugan ball was made out of chocolate sponge cake and carved into a circle. I added red fondant to it then decorated it with yellow and orange fondant. The base cake was chocolate cake with red/yellow/orange marbled fondant. The mom was very happy and I hear her son's face was priceless when he saw his cake.

My Dad's Birthday Cake
So It was originally going to be 2 tier and the bottom tier would have had an argyle pattern and the top tier would have looked like what I created, however I made my figure so big that it would have looked weird on a smaller tier. My dad was happy with it and it was my first figure so I was pretty proud of myself.

My 28Th Birthday Cake
Everyone said it was rediculous that I make my own birthday cake but I wanted to make a cake that I wanted. I am always thinking what someone else would like but I wanted something I would like... and I love this cake. Its 3-tier (8"+6"+4") Vanilla cake with Milk Chocolate ganashe. Butter creamed then covered in white fondant. The top and bottom tier were then covered with strips of colored fondant and a violet scallop top with golden yellow drapes. The middle tier I left white and created brown vines and mini fantasy roses. I would have added leaves but I simply ran out of time and I dont think it takes away from the cake. On the top of the top tier I added larger fantasy roses and leaves. I couldent even cut the top tier cause it was just too pretty, its still sitting in my fridge.

My First Wedding Cake
At the last second I changed the design of the cake but not the basic idea and I think it came out swell. I loved the curls in fondant and even the painstaking orchids I made (about 55 of them total) The best thing was the bride and groom were happy and that is all that matters.

Sister's Birthday Cake
This was my first cake that I made using marshmellow fondant and the rest is history.. I never looked back. It was my take on a wilton cake I saw in the store. I didnt know how to smooth the fondant or that there was such thin as a fondant smoother till my 3rd fondant cake so it is a little dented but I was so proud of myself

My Baby's First Birthday
This was a topsy turvy cake made out of italian sponge cake filled with vanilla bean creme and raspberry whip filling. I didnt get to finish it cause I had to run off to my first day of cake decorating class but there were supose to be fondant stars and balloons and #1s on wire all over the cake. I like what I did for the time that I had. I would have made the stripes thinner if I had to do it all over again.

Nephew's First Birthday
I painted a curious george jungle mural in my nephew's bedroom so for his first birthday I make him a curious george cake that matched his room. I made him his own baby cake in the shape of a number 1 for him to mess up all he wanted. it was made of buttercream and marble cake.

My Parents 30Th Anniversary
This was my first tiered cake. 1layer of yellow cake, ganashe filling, 1 layer of chocolate cake, crumb coat buttercream then covered in marshmellow fondant. It was fun to make except for the piping mishap. I couldn't get the butter cream dark enough to match the black fondant I made so I had my husband run out and grab a can of chocolate icing from the grocery store. I whipped it so fast it got super hot and then it was too loose to pipe acurarately. I was proud of it then but now it looks like a big mess to me. I know i could do so much better.
