This was my entry for the2011 MD cake show this past weekend. I see beautiful butterflies all the time done in cookies, and I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could do realistic ones. These moving boxes went with the Washington state cookie group for a family moving to Washington.
This group of cookies was made as a present for someone I know that is in the midst of a move to Washington State. I wanted to be creative, because she is a cookie decorator, too, so decided to make the state "symbols"... the an orca (state mammal), an apple (state fruit), pacific chorus frog (state amphibian), green darner dragonfly (state insect), and the yellow goldfinch (state bird). And the Washington state shape is covered in the state Tartan.
Pink Soccer Ball
I made soccer cookies for my niece's b-day last week. It was the first time Ive done cookie since I cut my finger a month ago - they aren't great (the size and shapes of the hexagons and pentagons are not consistent), but it was the best I could expect without being able to use my index finger!
