Oops!! A Wave!
The sheet cake is a light lemon cake with raspberry filling. The wave is carved from a white chocolate pound cake. Frosted in buttercream, with graham cracker crumb sand. The people are buttercream, the sand castle is made from a buttercream/graham cracker paste, and the surf board and shells are candy melts. Footprints and "happy birth day" (for my brand new newphew's birth day (7-28-06)) were drawn in the sand. thanks for looking!

I'm happy to say that thtey got there today and they survived the 1000 mile trip in the mail! Her favorite color is pink, the pale green and daisies match her invitation. No-fail, no-fail flavored with raspberry (pink) and chocolate with royal icing.

Flower Pot
This was a birthday cake for my mother-in-law. It was my first time making flowers out of fondant (fondant mixed with gumpaste powder). Unfortunately, the pot started to crack at the bottom - I think the cake inside was lopsided and it was leaning forward. oops! Fortunately the cake was good - it was 4 layers of chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling. I got so rattled when it started to break, I forgot to write Happy Birthday! Any advice for working with fondant successfully?

Protect Our Earth
White chocolate cake with raspberry filling and vanilla butter cream icing. Everything is edible - the penguin on Antarctica, shark fins in the water, dancing bear on Russia, panda on China, elephant and giraffe on Africa, kangaroo on Australia, macaws and tree frog on South America, and the bald eagle flying over the US are all fondant. (it was my first time making figures from fondant - what fun!) "Protect our earth" sign was made from candy melts. Made for a special Earth Day dinner last night.

Holiday Cookie Clothes
My father is in the Dry Cleaning business. This year for Christmas I made him clothes cookies in sugar, chocolate, and gingerbread. They decorated the tree in the store with these cookies ornaments (edible) on wire hangers. Then I made him another 150 additional decorated clothes cookies to give away to the customers' children. Some were red/green and Christmassy and some were non-Christmas colors for the families who didn't celebrate Christmas.
