My Topsy Turvy Cake That Didnt Really Make It All The Way To Topsy I Made This For A Neighbor Who Is Graduating High School And I
My Topsy Turvy cake that didn't really make it all the way to topsy..... =) I made this for a neighbor who is graduating High School and is planning to become a Veterinarian. I wish I would have put the front paw a little more over to the right. Oh well. =) And FYI: Because of my neck being thrown out every time I do cakes (and getting migraines because of it) and because of the time, mess, and lack of desire or interest, I have decided that this is my final cake. I am actually super excited to throw in my tins. =) 'm really looking forward to being in my yard more.

My Daughter Is In Love With Pillow From Lalaloopsy Im In The Process Of Retiring From Caking So This Is My Last Cake For Her I Was Kin
My daughter is in love with Pillow from Lalaloopsy. I'm in the process of retiring from Caking, so this is my last cake for her. I was kinda at a loss on where to start and I didn't get the body shape quite right, but I think she ended up cute and my daughter loves her. Note to anyone trying to do a Lalaloopsy....do the face first, then the hair. I did the hair first and then couldn't fit the face on. I had to do a little changing to the hair and luckily the blemishes are almost all hidden.

Abbi's Cake
Sorry...had to reload cake photo..... Thank you to preciosa225 for the inspiration. The silver thing on top is a finger flashlight shining on the A since Abbi likes to be in he spotlight. And I should have done the musical notes flat, since it's hard to tell what they are, but Abbi liked it. =) Dairy and Gluten Free. MFF, Sugarshack frosting, King Arthur Flour chocolate box mixes. Stainless steel food grade wire.

Monkey Cake
The fastest cake I think I've done. I was so short on time, I had to cut a lot of corners. Plus, it was 80 degrees in my house and things began to slide. But my son, who turned three, just loved it. =) And that's all that mattered to me. =) Thanks to bandcbakes for her awesome cake. Hers is so above mine, but I enjoyed quickly sorta recreating it. =)

Flower And Circles
This cake tried my patience so much. It seemed things went wrong at every turn. But the birthday girl loved it. I did it as a thank you to her mom who's been carpooling my daughter home a lot. Thank you to CoveredInCake and FH_Cakes for their designs which the birthday girl loved, and I tried to recreate. I'm afraid the recreations didn't quite do them justice, but I think it's alright. White cake, chunky strawberry filling, MFF, and MFF with tylose. Thanks for looking!

"so Happy..."
I made this for my sister's birthday. =) (Although, she actually turned 33. I didn't even think about how old she was actually turning, so when she said to put 32 on it, I went ahead and did it. =) oops. And she didn't even notice that it was the wrong age until about 30 minutes after she first saw it. LoL.) And my sister's motto right now is a quote from the movie "Roman Holiday" which explains the "so happy." =) All decorations, except the letters and yellow centers, were made using my circuit cake mini. It's the most I've ever used the thing. LoL. And a side note: When I first began to make it, I realized I was out of cake boards, except one that was too big. So I trimmed it down and covered it with wax paper. And wouldn't you know, it was still too big. But it was late at night and I figured I wouldn't care. Well, the board was all brown and ugly sticking out of the bottom of the cake, all nicely decorated, and it was driving me nuts. So that's what the frosting is there for. But it looked SO much cuter without the frosting there. Oh well. Chocolate cake, Raspberry Mousse, Ganache, and MFF. Thanks for looking! (This is my 2nd time posting this picture. For some reason, my first post got corrupted and can't be retrieved.)

Billow Weave
I made this for myself for my 30th birthday! I've been wanting to try the billow weave technique for months! So I figured I'd go big for my birthday. Each billow weave row took me over an hour to do. Crazy! And my hands were bruised by the end. But I'm pretty happy with the outcome. =) Only thing I would change is not to use my son's special frosting on the top tier. It ran down the tier causing non-straight sides and got some of the fondant wet. But oh well. =)

Sparkling Angel And Butterflies
My daughter is turning 8 in December and wanted an "angel" theme for her summer birthday party, since she will be getting baptized after she turns eight. =) I used the same butterfly that I used for the angels wings. Chocolate cake, buttercream, MFF...all dairy free. Thanks for looking!

For All Mothers
I was happy to have a reason to make a cake. =) I've been itching to do one for a while. =) The stencil of the mother and baby was suppose to be white on the outside to help tie in the flower, but I accidentally got ganache on the outer part and so just decided to "paint" it silver. Tiers are 10' and 8". White and Chocolate cake, dairy-free ganache, dairy-free Michele Foster's Fondant. And it's hard to tell, but the thicker ribbon around the top tier is actually dark brown. This was also my first time trying to make a realistic flower. TFL!

Pretty In Pink!
My daughter turned five today. =) I was only planning on doing the middle tier, but I just kept drawing on my sketch and decided to go all out and give the extra servings to neighbors. =) (There were only 8 adults and three children.) 4, 6, 8 inch tiers. Spice and Chocolate cake & dairy-free Michele Foster's Fondant. This was also my first time doing a big bow and doing the skirt on the bottom. =)

Simple And Bright
I was short on time and had to do something fast, so this is what I came up with. It was for my daughter's friend-invited b-day party. Lucky girl gets two sets of cupcakes and a cake for the day of her birthday. LoL Yeah...I guess I'm happy for an excuse to cake. =) Yellow cake, Chocolate icing, Dairy-free Michele Foster's Fondant, peppermint pearls Thanks for looking!

Birthday For Two
Devil's Food. Ganache. White chocolate MFF. Stencils with Royal Icing painted with pearl dust. This was my first time doing stencils on cake and my first time really using ganache. I included a pic of my crumb coat and final coat before the fondant. Wow! I love to work with ganache! However, I didn't think about the cake being chilled after I put the crumbcoat in the fridge. So the final coat started clumping, etc. AGH! So I had to use a bench scraper dipped in boiling water to smooth it out. That's why there are variations of the ganache color and sheen. This was for my two sisters. The letters are their initials. =) Thanks for looking! =)

Ruby The Red Fairy
This was for my daughter who just turned seven. She LOVES the Rainbow Magic Fairy Books! This was my first time using petal dust, and I sorta overdid it on the purple butterfly. =) But all colors were requested by my daughter. And it's hard to tell, but the whole cake is quite sparkly. =) TFL! Double chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, chocolate MFF, peppermint pearls, gumpaste accents, & edible image.

50Th-Dentist
Our dentist is an old family friend. When I found out he was being thrown a surprise party at his office, I offered to make a cake for it. I haven't done an all frosting cake for over a year. (And this is only my second.) I don't have any sheet cake pans, so I used baking sheets. Unfortunately, the corners went down a bit, but my husband thought they were suppose to be that way. LoL. I look forward to having a sheet cake pan some day. =) I also hoped that the frosting sheets would "meld" into the frosting, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get it to look mixed in. Although, I think it turned out okay. This was also a first time piping a design frosting along the sides. I've squeeze straight out before, but not shaping it. So it was all a good learning experience. Devil's Food cake & Indydebi's Buttercream. TFL!

A-Maze-Ing
My husband's birthday is Christmas Eve, but we celebrate it on Thanksgiving Eve. He requested a maze cake. So after brainstorming, I decided to make it out of RKT. My idea was that the RK would cause a cobblestone look on gray fondant. So then I could put white fondant on top for the snow. I don't own a sheet cake pan, so I made three thin layers from my baking sheets. White cake, chunky strawberry filling, Indydebi's Buttercream, & Michelle Foster's Fondant. Fondant and buttercream accents. Some clear sprinkles for the sparkly effect. =) This was fun to make. =) Thanks for looking!

Flowering Fourth
My daughter saw kileyscakes' "Daisy 5th Birthday Cake" and asked me to make it for her 4th birthday. (Thank you kileyscakes for your help!=)) My daughter specifically asked for certain colors and flavor of cake. It was a strawberry cake with vanilla frosting. Covered in MFF. TFL! =)
