Lost Island
This is a birthday cake for my brother whose favorite show is LOST. There are a bunch of show references that fans will recognize, but only if you are a fan! The cake is my own recipe of chocolate sheet cake and peanut butter pound cake to make a peanut butter cup. It is filled with chocolate buttercream and whole Reece's cups, and covered in mmf. The ocean is poured sugar, and the "smoke monster" around the top palm tree is spun sugar. the waterfall is bubble sugar. This is my first try at all of this sugar work. It was fun! The "LOST" floating in the ocean is my own technique of pressing gumpaste letters into the warm sugar. Turned out better than I thought it would!

I Heart Cake!
This was just a fun cake that I made with my four year old daughter. It was supposed to have a six inch round second tier, but she stole it to do herself. She did a great job on hers though. The cake is raspberry vanilla filled with butter cream, raspberry preserves, and white chocolate chips. The top is hand painted, and brushed with super gold. This was fun and yummy! Oh, and the little hearts are pressed sugar and were supposed to go all the way around, but they too got nabbed for The little cake :)

Reindeer Training Barn
My 4 ear old daughter and I put at least 30 hours into this baby. It was her design, and she did a lot of the decorations, including the wreaths, and the snowman. She also placed every single mint on the roofline! The whole thing was made from scratch, and was my first tr at gingerbread. I am shocked that it stayed up to be honest. It was fun, but I am SO ready to put it outside for the birds. Rudolf was my fav! oh and the ice rink.

I'm A Little Tea House
This is the cake for my daughter's fourth birthday. She is my one and only cake helper, and we started this whole cake thing together just a few months ago. So needless to say, her cake needed to be fantastic. Her request was for a tea pot that is also a doll house. So that is what she got! Cream cheese pound cake, 4 layers with my mom's buttercream. 6 in round on the bottom-two 8in rounds-one more 6in. Covered in white chocolate MMF. Handles for the cups, and the pot are gumpaste, and the saucers are also gumpaste. The cups are made of Orange sour dreamcicle cake (my own recipe). One cup for each child at the party :) painted with vodka and food color. It was very fun and she loved it :)

Over The Pig
This is the first cake I made for another person. It was for a surprise 50th birthday party, and I DID NOT WANT TO!!! I had only made 5 other cakes before, and I have had no training what so ever. I did one little practice cake, and it turned out pretty good, so I went for it :) every body loved it. The lettuce leaves were made on my children's plastic lettuce leaf and dried in a cupcake tin to make the curve! (i really have very few tools! I charged her 75$. Too much? Too little? I have no idea, but it was fun!

Unicorn Dreams
This cake was full of disasters, but my final product was better than my original plan! I had a horse head pan, but for the life of me I could not get a cake to come out of it in one piece. I tried everything! Finally I just took cake from the messed up horse heads, and sculpted the full body unicorn by hand. Not bad if I do say so! The first tier is chocolate sheet cake with poured chocolate butter filling. Covered in Chocolate fondant. The horse is white cake covered in mmf. It was really fun, but came down to the last minute, and the transportation was stressful!!!

Dog Bowls
This is my 11th cake. It is a birthday cake for my friend who loves her dog darby. The cake is a sour cream white cake with butter cream. MMF covering and dots. My 3 year old daughter and fabulous assistant cut and placed all of the dots on the water bowl. She also colored the piping gel for the water. The dog food is chocolate and peanut butter malted milk balls.

Oink Oink
I made this as a practice cake. My friend wants a pig cake for her father inlaw's 59th birthday, and since I have only made 6 cakes ever, I thought I should practice! The real cake will be 2 tiers (body and head), and have feet, lettuce leaves and X's for eyes. The party is an Hawaiian luau with a hog roast. Do you guys think a 10in bottom and an 8 inch top will feed 50? That is my biggest concern. I thought about doing cupcakes around it decorated to look like a lei.
