My First 4 Tier Wedding Cake - Gold & Purple
For the wedding of our good friends this past weekend. This is a cake of MANY, many firsts for me! My first 4 tier wedding cake, first ranunculus and peonies (attempted anyway – look more like carnations lol), first floral ball topper, first lustred tier, first all petal tier and first “fancy” wedding cake. 5”, 7” double, 9” double, 12”. I took inspiration for the double layered bow again from Sweet Picasso. The bottom petal tier was inspired by the many all ruffle, all petal, all scrunch tiered cakes I’ve seen here so thank you all – I just wanted to make it a little bit different so did two layer petals. The 3rd tier was inspired by the design of the backs of my dining chairs (shhh lol). The top gold tier was again inspired by so many lustred cakes I’ve seen. With many firsts, came MANY, many headaches and issues which I won’t list as it would be a book’s worth. In the end, although not perfect I was happy with the results. The first pic has the best angle but is fuzzy so I included the 2nd shot which is clearer but not a good angle. TFL. =D

Valentino Inspired Black & White Ruffles With Pink Accent Fantasy Flower
Did this small cake (6” x 6” and 5” x 3”) for a special personal occasion. I saw a dress by Valentino on-line and instantly wanted to represent it in cake. My first time with ruffles of any kind and I must say, doing a double layer ruffle was perhaps not a great first ruffle to try! The fondant was drying out faster than I could get the double done and it didn’t ruffle quite the way I wanted. TFL =D

Cocalo Jacana Inspired 1St Birthday
This was for my daughter’s first birthday, inspired by her CoCaLo Jacana crib bedding set. I bought the set before we knew she'd be a girl because I loved it so much, mostly because of the beautiful soft purple tones but also because of the cute animals. Extra tall tiers (5” tall for the top and bottom). The cupcake topper was made from cereal treats so I could keep it as a memento. I also made a carved 3D cupcake smash cake to match the topper. The Monkey girl and 2D animals were all handcut. Drop lettering was inspired by Sweet Picasso on FB. This was truly a labour of love, over 23 hours. TFL =D

Omg! 40 Celebration Cake
This was for a cocktail themed surprise celebration for a lovely lady on her 40th birthday. Her friends wanted personal touches so I used her favourite colours and added 2D decals of her favourite blue martinis on the cake. They also wanted to include her favourite expression “OMG!” as a fun way to tease her about her milestone birthday. TFL.

My Take On A Shabby Chic Vintage Giftbox
I get asked to do a lot of kids’ cakes so this was a wonderful opportunity to do a more grownup cake and try out this giftbox style of cake and the always trendy “shabby chic” style. It was for my niece’s birthday so I took free reign to do something I’d never tried before. My first attempt at a big accent flower. A ton of improvement needed but I learned a lot from having tried! TFL.

21St Birthday In Tiffany Blue With Bows
Big dramatic bow on top tier was inspired by rava aka Sweet Picasso on FB. Unconventional argyle pattern on bottom tier was inspired by a photo in a fashion magazine. Tiffany blue is the birthday girl's favourite colour and I thought it would go well with white and shades of gray. TFL.
