Closeup Of Jack And Jill From Mother Goose Cake
50/50 fondant and gumpaste. The spilled water is made from blue fondant laid down, and then piping gel tinted blue and spread on top.
Closeup Of Humpty Dumpty From Mother Goose Cake
50/50 fondant and gumpaste. I'm disappointed that I did such a poor job on his eyes! Either eye is okay, but together they are too asymmetrical. I really think eyes make the character, so hopefully next time it will go better! I also think he needs a feather in his cap!
Closeup Of Mother Goose Figure
From my Mother Goose cake :-) Again, thanks to sarahnichole975 for the inspiration!!
Mother Goose Cake
This was for the baby shower for a friend of my cousin. Bottom tier is WASC with chocolate filling, middle tier is WASC with raspberry filling, Top is WASC with icing only. Iced with IMBC and Michele Foster's fondant. Figures are fondant or 50/50 fondant and gumpaste. This took forever to make but was sooooo fun! Thanks so much to sarahnichole975 as I used her nursery rhymes cake for my inspiration! I will post some closeups of figures over the next few days.
Gecko Cupcake Cake
I fell in love with Dominique26's gecko cake a long time ago and have been dying it try it! I brought this to our church potluck hoping no one would think I was strange for bringing a gecko cake! LOL! He was a hit with all the kids. Yellow cake with no-crust buttercream. Legs, eyes, and flowers are fondant.
Pink Castle Cake
Made this castle cake for a little friend who was turning six! It is WASC with IMBC. The turrets are Crystal Lite containers covered in saran and then IMBC and fondant. The turret tops are ice cream cones on top of an upside down cupcake. Thanks to Aine2 for her lovely design that I copied!!
This was for my little boy's 2 yr birthday party - needless to say, he loves trucks! It is WASC, filled with ganache and iced with buttercream. The brown icing is ganache also.
Stained Glass Iris
A simple little cake for my mother for Mother's Day. WASC with IMBC, then painted with piping gel and outlined with RI for a stained glass effect. It was fun to do!
Here is a closeup of the sneakers. When I do it again, I will paint over the sewing lines (that will make it more lifelike - I just ran out of time!), and I will work faster to hopefully avoid the cracks in the gumpaste...!
WASC, Michele Foster's fondant, and IMBC with raspberry filling. Decorations are fondant, Converse sneakers are 50/50 gumpaste and fondant. Many thanks to Boween for the wonderful design (not sure if she got it from somewhere else, but hers was the one I saw and followed), and to Stellastarchild for the instructions on making the Coverse sneakers! (I'll post a closeup of the sneakers next)
Wedding Dress Cake
For a friend's bridal shower. WASC, filled and frosted with IMBC and then Michele Foster's fondant. Dress, pearls, and roses are fondant, brushed with pearl dust. Leaves and dress details done in royal icing. Thanks, Aine2, for your video on making miniature roses! Thanks also to the many CCers on here with similar wedding dress cakes that provided so much inspiration!!
My First (And Probably Last!) Wedding Cake!
My first wedding cake! And probably my last, too, since I was a total stress case! Apologies for the poor lighting - it is actually brown and white, not black and white. Anyway, it is 10" (WASC with Raspberry filling), 8" (chocolate with ganache filling), and 6" (WASC with ganache filling) squares, iced in IMBC, covered in Michele Foster's fondant. Scrolling is done in fondant since I'm a terrible piper. The "B" on top (which you can hardly see in the pic due to the poor lighting!) is RI.
Bunny Birthday Picnic
This was for my friend's granddaughter who was turning 3 years old. Bunny themed party, so bunny themed cake! It is WASC with IMBC, then covered in Michelle Foster's fondant. It was a big hit!
Bottom tier is WASC with raspberry filling, top tier is decadent chocolate with chocolate ganache. All decorations are fondant except the umbrella on top, which is gumpaste. Thanks for all the inspiration I got from clothesline cakes on here, especially by BakingGirl, Khym, couturiere, Sabrina_L_Price, and many more!!
This cake was for the installation of officers for the American Iris Society! I made it for my mother, who is friends with the incoming president. It is WASC with raspberry filling. The icing and folliage are IMBC, the irises are in Buttercream Dream. MANY THANKS to BCJean who gave me awesome instructions on how to do the irises!!!! I could not have done it without her help, seriously! I didn't even know bearded irises could be done in BC until I saw her beautiful ones!
Pillow Cakes With Tiara
Here is my other entry for the NC state fair. All fondant over dummies. Thanks to Ginger08, hope22023, missyek, emmascakes, and others who posted beautiful pillow cakes that gave me great ideas. Thanks especially to missyek for the tiara pattern, and to adawndria for help deciding colors on that top pillow (by the way that top pillow is ivory and silver - it looks a little yellow beause of a yelow light shining down on it where I was taking the pic!).
Jungle Cake For State Fair
