Tina's 40Th Birthday Cake
I found a silhouette that reminded me of my stepdaughter which was my inspiration. I piped black cake lace to make the image which I had done with a Jerry Garcia cake too. EASY to pipe!!! Tape picture on cardboard, cover with wax paper & pipe away. I used a tip 2. Made the week before & it would hold longer than that. I also piped the lettering. My intention was to do ruffles on the entire bottom cake. My friend Susan was helping me and saying the one row was enough & she was right. I wanted more on it-I over do it & she's the minimalist. I got her to agree that we needed more ruffles. Used Satin Ice teal on the bottom of 1st & second then mixed in some white & alternated colors on 3rd & top of third.

Andreea's Ruffled Cake
I'm looking for my old cakes here for reference and not finding them so I'm adding it now. This was a cake for my friend/Wilton Instructor's birthday a few years back. I found that Fondarific was easier to work with for the ruffles. I cut 2 circles, ruffled them, pinched them together & then had to snip them. Next time I may use a 12 tip & put a hole in the middle. VERY time consuming!! I wanted to cover the whole bottom cake but ran out of time.

Prince Tribute Cake
I was inspired by digital artist SonofEllis' picture of Prince and of course saddened by Prince's passing & made this. I don't sell cakes & normally make them for family & friends parties. This one I just posted on my Facebook page & said who wants it? It went to a cake friend's daughter who loved Prince. Thanks for looking!

Peggy's Vintage Lace & Rose Cake
I thought this would be an easy cake! I wanted to use up ivory fondant & was going to do something else with it but decided to use the lace I had which would be "quicker". That part was but then I spent about 45 mins. working on dusting a large premade rose (hard part was deciding on the dusts). Decided to add leaves (my large leave plunger cutter died, used the medium). Then it needed something else so I added the little roses. Wound up looking antique style or vintage. Happy with it in the end. Hopefully the sick (with a cold) birthday girl (84 years old) will enjoy it, or maybe in a day or two. Dusted in darker gold dust, highlighted edges in cranberry dust mixed with vodka. Leaves dusted with holly green.

Aunt Dee's 75Th Birthday Cake- Back Of Cake
This was the back of the cake for the Doo Wop themed party. The back had the bowling ball & pin that I was going to put on as the topper since Dee loves bowling but decided to stick with the Doo Wop theme. 10, 8 & 6" on 14" drum I borrowed a friend's combo bowling pin & ball cutter.

Felicity's Oh Boov Cake
This is a Boov named Oh from the movie Home. I watched/listened to Elisa Strauss' youtube video over and over again. I had to try 3 times to get the head covered. Tricky putting fondant on something 12" tall!! Finally got it with help via Skype from a friend from England who said "now don't touch it (anymore), don't touch it, stop!" when I was trying to make it better. I just had to leave it the way it was. I made the mouth different since I didn't like the way it looked without being covered. My 6 yr old great niece appreciated him.

Van Halen Cake
You gotta love a bride with a sense of humor! A friend's daughter asked me to make a Van Halen cake for her groom who's a big fan. I asked if she wanted me to write any lyrics or something else on it & this is what she came up with. The cake design is from 1 of their guitars. She had sent me a couple of pictures of others' cakes & we went based on that.

Anne's 50Th Birthday
This is for someone who rode horses professionally I believe. I can't wait until she sees it at her surprise party. I have to thank Southern Cottage Cakery & Pon Cake for their inspiring cakes that I found on the internet. This is Devils Food with King Arthur's peanut butter filling. Delicious when smothered in chocolate icing or ganache. I hope it's as good with the fondant.
