Naked Rustic Succulents Cake
My cousin started off wanting a one tier cake for her wedding since she was having a cookies & milk bar. I didn't want to push but eventually she asked if I could do a small 3 tier. I said "I make them for family parties all the time!" She was going to add her own artificial flowers to replicate another cake she saw. I was talking to her about her décor & she said she was having succulents. I said "did you know that was popular in cakes now?" She said "I just heard about them". I said "Would you like me to make a few and see if you like them?" She agreed, loved them and this is what she got. I think it fit her rustic décor perfectly. And she was happy! I made the succulents from gum paste & fondant. Also put them on wires, put the succulents & flowers into coffee stirrers & then into the cake.

Michelle's Lace Cake
I broke down & bought a cake lace mold & mix. Pretty easy to make & use & so cool. My husband was fascinated by the lace. I heard there is a home made mix on here somewhere which I will try. I had air bubbles on the lace & was told to let it rest covered about 20 mins. I used the mix the mix by Clare Bauman's. This was on a six inch cake. The cake started to bulge after awhile so use a firm icing dam. I used Alan from GSA's own mat & I think using the little tool he suggests is the only tool needed. I bought the one recommended with the mix which was kind of helpful in removing the lace from the mold. The rose was purchased pre-made.

Joanna's 1St Holy Communion
8 year old Joanna sent me a picture of a cake that she found on the internet. I have no idea who made the original but she had a different topper & wanted ivory & pink fondant. I put white accent flowers. I was hesitant about the ivory and pink but she was right! Stay away from those shiny cake drums folks! Every time I use them I'm sorry I do. These were 12" & 8" cakes. I used the cross from the FMM tappits. I made one, made some flowers, made another, made flowers. It seemed to work for me, this time....

Peggy's Birthday Cake 2015
I was tempted to make a cake with snowflakes since we were having snow on the 1st day of spring but decided to give Peggy hope with this flowering cake. This was for her 83rd birthday. This was yellow cake with raspberry filling covered in fondant with fondant decorations from molds.

Alan's Golf Bag Cake
Golf bag cake for my boss. I was doing it the past 2 days after work & didn't get to put the finishing touches on but he got a kick out of it especially liking the colors that matched his real golf bag. He thought I just picked those colors but I asked his wife for photos. The gopher was done in memory of a friend who loved the movie Caddyshack. The cake were 2 - 6" cakes totaling 7 1/2". I glued the 2 drums together, glued in a 1/2" dowel. I made holes in the cake boards b/4 putting the cakes on. Then I stuck a straw through the cakes and then put them on the dowel. I wrapped the cakes on the cake drum.

Icing Smiles Tinkerbell Birthday Cake
This was a birthday cake I made for an Icing Smiles sibling. Her brother had undergone a kidney transplant at about 1 year old. I got to meet him too & he was so excited over his sister's cake. Allison on the other hand was looking at me thinking "who is this stranger & why am I in her house?" I don't know that 2 - 3 yrs olds realize the fondant cakes are cakes. My great niece looked at a castle cake I made her smiling but from the look on her face, it looked like she was thinking "that's a toy!" The wings were made from rice paper.

Norbi's Groom Cake Star Trek's Next Generation's The Borg
Both the bride & groom were fans so I figured this was a good choice for my brother & his bride. Someone in the kitchen spilled something on the drum because it was wet & getting sticky. I covered two 8" cakes separately, then stacked them & put a band around the middle & decorated. The green was done with piping gel & icing mixed. The piping gel alone didn't show up. This was done with a lot of help from my cake partner in crime, Andreea! I made a mold out of a Star Trek keychain but it didn't work completely so I just used the top. You can probably make your own cheaper by searching the net.

This Was The Eagle Scout Cake I Made For My Nephew Which Collapsed On The Way To The Event The Top Tier Amp Eagle Were Intact A Millio
This was the Eagle Scout cake I made for my nephew which collapsed on the way to the event. The top tier & eagle were intact. A million things I should have done. We didn't realize it happened until we got there & everyone was so nice saying how beautiful it was. I loaded the step by step pics for the eagle but somehow they are "lost" here. I'll repost if necessary.

Michelle & Norbi's Beach Wedding Cake
This was the wedding cake I made with my friend Andreea for my brother's wedding at the Jersey shore. The chairs are from 2 cake kits. I ordered them when my gum paste chairs would not stay together! Andreea saved the day by coming down the shore with her seashell molds & making the chocolate shells.
