Lori's Blue Butterfly Cake
I made this for my friend's birthday. I decided on the design with help that she liked butterflies. I don't remember her saying she loved fairies so it was a surprise for me when she got excited over the cake. I made the silhouette from fondant. I rolled it out kind of thin, let it dry out & cut it with an Xacto knife.

Mardi Gras Cake
I decided to make my own birthday cake so I could try out the fault line cake. I put the parchment paper on the top & bottom, put the cake plate on a cookie sheet & start pressing the sprinkles by small handful after handful. I used a gold sprinkle mix & added other green & purple sprinkles & the crowns. I messed up a bit by putting too much icing. I usually don't make buttercream cakes but I would try this using the Wilton youtube technique with the smaller round tip versus the icing tip. I made the mask with a cake lace mold & then added a lime green fondant in the back. FYI, once the lace was done, I laid the mask on the fondant & trimmed & then rested it on a dollar store mask covered in plastic wrap. I supported it with gold gum balls with piping gel. My friend was in a tizzy that I was making my own cake. She said I'll buy you one! I said no, I'm having fun doing this! Yellow cake with lemon filling & fudge icing. YUM!! Happy Birthday to me!

The Last 60Th Birthday Cake Of The Year!
I tried to make each of my friends a special 60th birthday cake this year. There is a reason I call them friends. The last 3 of the year were within an 11 day period starting December 19th - 31st and didn't expect their own cake. Lots of fun at our Christmas Birthday party!
