Made for my niece's 7th birthday. The bottom tier is taken from Jacqueline538... a cake that often comes up as a favourite.
I have always wanted to make a cake like this... and finally got the chance... there is actually a present hidden inside the cake too... First time I have been asked to do that! The cake is a 10" square... and the stripey bit is 12cm high. My loopy bow was a disaster... and harder than I imagined !!!!! otherwise though.. I am happy with it. There is a present inside the cake too... from the parents of the 18 yr. old birthday girl!

I was asked on Wednesday to do this cake.. for today, Saturday.. so baked all day Thursday, and decorated it all yesterday. I am not sure if it seems more Bollywood than 70's.... but I am happy with it. The mirrorball is huge I know.. BUT I was so excited to even find it, because I thought it may be impossible at such short notice, and I was already plannning how I could make one!
A cake similar to one I have done before, and obviously inspired by so many seen here. The baby on top is done using my new first Impressions mold... which I am totally in love with! The bottle & teddy bear are also molds from first Impressions.

A friend was visiting from Australia... and it was her son's birthday during their holiday... she asked me to do a cake incorporating Mario and The Leaning Tower of Pisa... and so I did the base like my previous Mario cake... and then made Mario from gumpaste.. and the Tower is a bought souvenir... that luckily for me is sold in a shop in town!!!
This is a baptism cake. White chocolate mudcake, covered in white chocolate fondant. baby & flowers around her are in gumpaste. White fondant is regular sugar fondant.

Comp cake with matching cupcakes. Winners announced today. very exciting experience for me as first ever competition. It was a food competition though, including dishes from antipasti, entree, mains, and desserts... 3 contestants for each section.
This was my first teletubby... and before you say my modelling skills are very precise for the face... I will confess immediately that I cheated... Bought a toy, and cut the plastic face off... and then pushed it into the cake. After this photo was taken, i added the boy's name, and the number 3 in lala's hand.

This cake stands just over 40cm high. The base is 2 x 12" contoured cake tins.. I was really looking forward to doing this cake... something different.... sadly though I didn't ask anybody for help or hints on how to do the leopard print,,... because it certainly doesn't look as I had imagined it looking!!! This was made for a friend of mine as my gift for their wedding. Am sorry I plonked all those huge roses on top... less would have definitely been more!!! The wedding was in the evening though... and outside.. so just lots of candles and lanterns..... this light made the roses took better. (Roses fresh)... all mudcake, ganache & white chocolate fondant.

This is actually a cake dummy for a fashion fair to be held in Florence. Tiers covered with white chocolate fondant. Shoes couldn't have been done without FIRST IMPRESSION mold. Even with the mold, they took forever.. over 40 pairs.................
