Yes, another chalkboard cake. Made this for my coworkers...while we returned last week, the kids' first day is tomorrow. Two-layer 12x18, french vanilla & chocolate fudge, filled and iced in vanilla caramel BC. Eraser is fondant. Thanks for looking!
My first stacked cake!! Thanks again to everyone that gave me advice in the forum. 10" is yellow with strawberry pastry filling, 8" is chocolate with chocolate BC; all covered and decorated in fondant; gumpaste bow. Should be a gumpaste mom, but she broke during transit so the one in the picture is a cutout from the paper plate. Inspired by several mod mom cakes in the CC gallery. Thanks for looking!
This is a cake I did about a year ago for my brother & sister-in-law's baby shower. Don't know why I haven't uploaded it until now. :-) Inspired by Cakes by Diane on here. I added the border around the cake to match the nursery decor, specifically the wall paper border (see side view of cake for better picture).
Made this for my husband's birthday. Two-layer 9x13 chocolate and yellow cake torted with caramel filling and filled with chocolate buttercream. Iced in buttercream with fondant rocks and plastic topper. I took a balled-up paper towel and tried to make the sides look more "natural" and rocky, but it just looks like poorly smoothed icing to me. LOL! Oh well, I'm pretty happy with it overall.
