Marshmallow Fondant Blue Roses Wedding Cake
This was for a friend. I wasn't crazy about the blue roses or the columns but she REALLY wanted the columns and the blue roses. I felt it ended up OK. The fondant is homemade marshmallow. The roses are from gumpaste from a mix. The fresh flower arrangements are mine too. I was at this wedding & cut the cake & we almost ran out!. They ordered for 160 and there were 175 there, many who came back for seconds. Yikes! I guess it tasted good ;-)

Limes & Pink Roses
This is a wedding cake with a theme of limes. The fruit/roses under the glass is fresh. I got the idea off of here where someone had repicated a book photo? Anyway, the bride LOVED the idea. We did the cake in white chocolate plaques overlapping each other & then the glass vase full of limes & roses with another bouquet of limes and roses on top. My camera did kind of a bad job for some reason. Plus there was a light directely above it that was glaring. But it was a pretty cool cake.

More Gifts
The coolest thing about this cake was the flavor. Mint chocolate! I made a dense chocolate cake & then torted with mint mousse. I flavored my simple sugar with Bailey's Mint and then crushed Mint Oreos & layered those in there too. It was yummy. Still haven't heard back from the bride & groom but I have a feeling they loved it.

Mixed Shaped Cakes
This bride wanted Dairy Queen ice cream cake and real cake. So I made the main part of this regular cake that sat out throughout the reception. Then I had order DQ cakes & scraped everything off of them & put on my own frosting & carved them so they'd slide into the main cake. A few minutes before cake cutting time I slid the ice cream cake into place. It worked out pretty well & was very popular! Every person got some of each: ice cream & cake!

Round, Simple Cake With Real Hydrangeas
This is the kind of cake I dread, "simple & elegant" is what the bride says but what it really translates to is "no room for error." This one I thought came out really well. It was an outdoor wedding on a 90 degree day but the bride said the cake stood up with no worries.
