I love this cake. Chocolate & white with Kahlua & Blueberry mousse repectively. Fondant with sating black ribbon and royal black piping.
This groom worked for the forestry department & his job was ridding our forest of a certain kind of maple tree & replacing them with native oak. So I had VERY strict orders on acceptable leaves and unacceptable leaves. I actually went into the forest & used real local leaves to make these instead of cutters & veiners. He adored it and said they were perfect local leaves & acorns. It was a fun project to have a walk through the woods be part of my business needs

I stuck the lily stems in straws so they didn't touch the cake at all & made the bride sign away her life as they can be poisonous but the end result was lovely I thought. This photo makes it look like it is leaning but it wasn't. I'm just not a great photographer.
This is from the Wilton Wedding Dream Cakes book cover. This is the second time I've made it and both times I've adored it. It has about 200 fondant rose leaves. This was one of the more beautiful receptions I've ever delivered a cake to. It was gorgeous.

This is a lemon with raspberry filling. It's maragrita themed. THe people on top are my first attempt at gumpaste figures & I was very proud until the humidity went to 100% in my house today & the bride snapped in half! The wedding still hasn't started & I'm waiting for the bride to call & say the bride is in a pile next to the cake. The things we bakers deal with!

This is hexagon vanilla with raspberry mousse filling & jam & vanilla buttercream. It was outside & boy was I nervous! An outdoor wedding on July 1st? But today is just gorgeous, high humidity but only 75 degrees (in Ohio.) Fortunate bride! The lilies are real. I stuck the stems in straws before putting them on.
I made 30 6" square cakes with rice paper butterflies ( 200 butterflies!!!) Never again will I agree to such an intense project. I had to drive them 80 miles too. Can you see the other 2 behind this one? The overall effect was beautiful but I think this is the worst quality frosting job I've ever done. The taste, however, was not sacrificed.
This is a tiny 4" on a 6" cake for a wedding that had centerpiece cakes. We covered it in the daisies so it would look dramatic even tho it was small. It was on a stage on a piano.

This is a lemon cake with lemon buttercream filling & vanilla buttercream on the outside in the shape of hearts: 6", 10", 14." On the outside I piped random hearts & dots & scroll work & then after it had all dried I dusted it with pink pearl dust, just a slight sheen of pink. I got the date mixed up & delivered it yesterday & there was no wedding! Talk about a panic attack. The wedding was today! So I toted it back home & it sat on my table last night. Sigh. I had a senior moment and I'm only 32!
I made a ton of these for a bridal shower. It took forever. I just made similar ones this week & it went so much faster. The more I do them, the faster I get.
This is the second stacked cake I ever made. The bear & flowers are fabric. After all that basketweave there was no energy for edible flowers! I doweled this with straws, if you can believe that. Inexperience, but it was just fine.
Sheet cake with a fondant Doctor's bag on top. I took a sheet cake & cut it into 3 parts & layered them, then froze it & carved & crumb coated while frozen. Then covered in fondant. I painted it while still thawing so the fondant was wet & the brush marks showed. I thought it turned out well. Bought a chocolate mold of doctor's equipment & used fondant pressed into it for the tools.
This is my second BCT and I am a big fan. If you can't find anything for a certain character, just draw it. Tho I had quite the time even finding an image of this little cartoon on the internet. It's Uniqua.
I did two of these for twins' baby shower. I thought they should be honey flavored, but in reality, they were lemon.
I made this last summer. 5 tiers with flowers in between. I had to climb onto the table to get the top 2 tiers on! Very dramatic.
This is a storybook cake, with stories the graduate like in 3-D fondant, on top of a full sheet cake. It was really fun. I even have the Batman signal since she was a huge fan of Batman.

This was fashioned after the brides dress. My camera broke & I borrowed someones & it took not that detailed of photos. Lots of lace & fondant over buttercream. She let me completely do what I wanted which was very fun.
