Retirement Cake
Last October was a month of many retirements at work. Our company offered the “Golden Handshake” which is basically an attractive retirement package to anyone close to retirement, thinking about an upcoming retirement or anyone wanting to find employment elsewhere. This was offered to help the company’s budget in the upcoming year(s) and we had close to about 40 people who accepted the offer. I made this cake for two of my coworkers and then made 3 separate mini cakes for 3 other coworkers. We gifted them with vintage engraved forks I found on Etsy. I found inspiration for this cake on Pinterest. This cake was a chocolate cake with strawberry buttercream and fresh sliced strawberry filling and frosted with Frostin Pride. My handwriting on a cake is not so good and I never get it aligned right so my trick is to find a font I like, trace it with royal icing on waxed paper and transfer it to the cake (or on fondant plaques). The smaller cakes were 4” mini chocolate cakes with buttercream filling and frosting cake

30Th Birthday Fiesta
We had a Mexican Fiesta themed birthday party for our son who turned 30th in September. We had the party with our immediate family members at local Mexican food restaurant that practiced Covid guidelines. I found an invitation I liked on Zazzle and made some personal design changes and used the invitation as my inspiration. The cake was chocolate with strawberry buttercream and fresh sliced strawberry filling and frosted with Frostin Pride. The decorations on the cake were hand cut fondant. I also made a hand cut sign (I don’t have a Circuit) to match the cake and made personal miniature piñatas for each family member.

Blippi Birthday Cake
I made this cake for a coworkers little boy. When she asked me to make a “Blippi” cake I had no idea who Blippi was, apparently he is on YouTube. I found pictures of Blippi on Pinterest and hand cut him out of fondant along with the nameplate, 3, glasses and bow tie. The cake was a chocolate 8” round with custard filling and Frostin Pride frosting. Since the Birthday Boy was turning 3, he felt he should have 3 cakes so his mama said a couple of cupcakes would do the trick (lol)

Celebration Of Life
I made this cake for my brother-in-law’s Celebration of Life on Saturday. He was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive bile duct cancer and passed away after 3 short months at the young age of 59. He was a huge Disney fan along with my family and we spent many family vacations at Disneyland over the last 35 years so we used Disney as our theme. My husband helped me cut out the fondant wording and castle from a picture I found on Pinterest with my Circuit Cake. The cake itself is a vanilla cake with a strawberry buttercream filling, fresh sliced strawberries and Pastry Pride frosting. As most of us know, Pastry Pride and fondant don’t “get along” so I added a good amount of Tylose to the fondant so that the pieces would really stiffen as they dried and I added the pieces to the top of the cake only a couple of hours before serving. I also made some Mickey cookies, mini cherry pies, banana cupcakes and mini brownies to add to the dessert table.

Riding Off To Retirement
I made this cake for a co-worker who retired this week after 30 years of service & I swear she doesn't look much older than the picture on the cake! Cake was cinnamon swirl, cinnamon cream cheese filling and frosted with Pastry Pride. Decorations are gumpaste with royal icing accents

Pot O'gold Cupcake
I made these cupcakes for a work celebration in honor of St. Paddy's Day. I decorated them as a pot of gold with the rainbow inside. I used a box of white cake mix, seperated the batter into six bowls, tinted with the colors of the rainbow then piped a small amount of each colored batter into the cups and baked them. I decorated the tops with a simple vanilla buttercream to look like gold coins & sprinkled with gold disco dust for sparkle. Eventhough I used a boxed cake mix, everyone thought they were delicious! (This is a re-post of my cupcake picture of last night, my first post got deleted). TFL

50Th Birthday Cookies
I made these cookies last weekend for a friend's 50th Birthday. The crowns matched her party theme. A friend's two young adult daughters said the crowns reminded them of "Juicy Couture" (probably because of the colors). My inspiration came from the invitation and, believe it or not, a rice krispie cereal pop at the Hallmark store. NFSC, glace icing, sanding sugar and disco dust.

Cherry Blossom Baby Shower Cake
This cake was made for a baby shower we had at work for a coworker who is having a girl she is naming Isabella but they will call her "Bella." Her theme is cherry blossoms which now I absolutely love. The branch was made of gumpaste cut from my circuit cake, which I am not so sure if I like it so much. I haven't had any practice with it to get the technique down, i.e. thickness of gumpaste hence the "jagged" edges. flowers were made of gumpast, sugar pearls and luster dust. The cake was devil's food with cherry cream filling and frosted with Pastry Pride. Overall I was pretty pleased with it, excepted for the "cut" on the branch. TFL!

Sweet Shoppe Baby Shower Mini Cupcakes
These are strawberry cupcakes with Sprinkles strawberry frosting recipe. I made these for my sister-in-law's baby shower last weekend and personalized them with an "e" monogram for the baby's name Ella. I used a technique I found on a blog by Bake at 350 by using Wilton candy melts and nonpareils.

Baptism
This cake was made for my niece's goddaughter. She allowed me to create what I wanted but she requested the colors of white and gold. It is hard to tell in these photos, but I tinted the frosting a light golden yellow since I knew I would not be able to achieve a gold color frosting without it looking more like yellow. My inspiration for the design came from a cookie from CookiesbyDesign. The cross and flowers were made from color flow painted with gold luster dust (mixed with vanilla) , the frosting is Pastry Pride and the writing is buttercream

Wedding Cookie Samples
These were some samples of cookies I made for a co-worker who is getting married next month. She is going to use the cookie as table seating card by putting a tag with the individual's name and table number tied with the ribbon. She choose a shamrock to represent Ireland, her soon-to-be husband's heritage and where she was proposed to. The cookie she choose was the one with the dots and broken lines and she wants me to add disco dust. NFSC and Toba Garrett's Glace

High School Graduation Cake
Since it is graduation season, I came across this old photo of the cake I made for my son's graduation and thought I should post it. I used clipart from the internet to make the piping gel transfers. Writing was made of royal icing and then (with tweezers) transfered on the cake after they dried.

Graduation Cookies For Bouquet
Eventhough these are last years cookies, I thought I would post them since graduation season is here and maybe someone needs easy ideas(?). I just can't believe I didn't get a picture of the finished bouquet!!! The inspiration for the "congrats" cookie come from katiedeva on this website. NFSC w/Toba Garrett's glace and sanding sugar
