Another Attempt At Fondant
My fondant technique is definitely improving. I went to a demo on covering cakes with fondant, and the person demonstrating covered 10 cakes in under one hour!! He had a "sheeter" (a huge pasta machine used by restaurants) and I have a rolling pin. I'm happy with this one.

Roses And Basket Weave Using Baking Strips For The First Time
This is a basket of roses, top view. This is my first cake using the baking strips, and I tell ya, ya gotta try 'em!!! Used properly, the strips distribute heat evenly throughout the pan so the cake doesn't crack and dry at the edges and you don't have to level the cake.

First Edible Image
This is my first attempt at using an edible image. The image came out great, and I used a petal pan b/c I knew it'd look like the symbol.. Too bad I didn't ice it like a petal cake! I met a pastry chef who told me it took her every day of six months to learn how to ice a cake properly! Now, I don't feel so bad!
