Easter Cake
I brought this 6" round in today for the gal who suggested to Marketing to interview me for the firm newsletter re my cakes. For the first time, I "spackled" the cake with a paste made from the cake crumbs and slivers mixed in with buttercream, then I iced the cake with it. Then, after it settled, I iced it with chocolate icing then covered with fondant. (It's a banana cake with chocolate pudding filling.)

My Valentine's Cake
Everybody's had a cake from me dedicated to them ... it's MY turn! This is a little practice chocolate cake with strawberry filling, iced with buttercream laced with Godiva chocolate liquor, purple Satin Ice fondant. I was practicing ruffles and it's the first time I made a carnation (side flower) with my Garrett frill cutter.

Chloe's Cake
Two-layer 6" chocolate cake, vanilla Bavarian cream, diamond mat, clay gun border, silver dragees, fondant bow. I made this for my aunt, who just wanted a little cake to "take the shame out of her eyes" when she goes to x-mas dinner (b/c she's not baking). Go get a clay gun if you don't have one ... it's TERRIFIC!!!

Joy Cake
A chocolate practice cake, apricot glaze, Toll House chocolate chips in vanilla filling, silk flowers, tappits. I gave it to a gal who had previously cancelled an order for cake for 80 people with me b/c she couldn't see paying $3 a slice for a fondant cake. When she got it home and tasted it, she raved "NOW I SEE WHY YOU CHARGE SO MUCH PER SLICE!!" Ahem...
