Tangerine
This cake is originally from a clipping given to me years ago. The colors and flowers were changed for this bride. It was originally to be buttercream with fondant ribbon, but 2 days before the weather report was calling for a heat index of 105 and the reception was outside! Needless to say Iswitched to fondant. I really loved this cake! The icing is Fondx. I love that stuff.

Chocolate Lover
This cake was loosely based on the Dave Navarro and Carmen Electra cake, but by the time the bride changed the details, it was quite different. The cake was devil's food with chocolate cream filling and chocolate buttercream icing. There's a story behind the flowers that the florist really tried to gouge the bride. She wanted $700 to do all red roses for the cake! That was more than the cost of the cake itself! I know they didn't pay that much for the flowers although I don't know the final total.

Blue Swags
This was my second attempt at fondant swags and I was a little anxious. I was happy how they turned out. I put them on the tiers before leaving the kitchen and then stacked the cakes on site and added the fibbon roses. I was a big fan of the color choices of the bride, it felt a little baby shower, but it worked with her reception site.

Peonies
This was inspired from the cover of one of the bridal mags. To be honest the bride called me afterwards and said that she was disappointed and that the cake looked sloppy! I am my own worst critic and not even I would say that my work was sloppy! The fondant ribbon was not perfect and I admit that, but I think to say sloppy is harsh. I display the cake proudly in my cake and get compliments on it, so there.
