70Th Birthday
Let me start by apologizing if this is a design of someones here at CC. The customer sent the image to me and I have no idea where she found it. I copied it with several of my own touches and additions. The woman resembles the birthday girl that just turned 70. Her daughter wanted 49 on the cake. I made the newspaper with rice paper and edible printer. The headline read: It's A Miracle and the column read: Sonya turned 49 Again! I inserted a picture of her also. It was a lot of fun to make.

Red Riding Hood And The Three Pigs
This cake was made for one of my favorite return customers. It was for a little boy that loved to read. His favorite books were Red Riding Hood (James Marshal version) and Walt Disney's Three Little Pigs. My challenge was to combine the two themes. I accented some of the edible images with appropriate colored MMF such as Red Riding Hood's cape, the straw hat and the red bricks but my favorite was the wolf in sheep's clothing. There must have been at least 1,000 leaves on this cake!

Castle Cake
The towers were cut to length paper towel tubes covered with MMF. The tops were rice crispie treats covered with MMF and decorated royal frosting and MMF flowers. The smaller towers on the sides were MMF and gumpaste mixed. The cake was frosting with buttercream. Thanks to everyone that has donated an image of a similar castle. I was inspired by all.

Vespa Cake
The customer wanted to surprise her husband with a Vespa cake to resemble the one he just bought for his 40th birthday. I was able to match the paint color and the headlight really lit up. The cake is covered with MMF. The light assembly was made of MMF and painted silver. The light is one that I found at Walmart in the wedding section. They really come in handy for cakes. The cake was quiet large and heavy and sat on (2) 20 x 30 foam core boards.
