Out Of This World
The base cake turned out pretty cool (picture does not do it justice). I dry painted it with purple, 2 shades of green and luster dust. REally cool out of this world look. I had such a fit with the spaceship. I made it out of rice crispy treats, it was 3 pieces but the middle section broke so I could only use the top. Then that was the weekend of bad mmf...so hot it was melting. Overall - my nephew was happy with it.

Lightning Mcqueen
This cake made me cry, it was mid-March HOT and HUMID - I couldn't bring myself to turn on the AC in March. So, my mmf melted - fell apart - basically hated me. So, it's not my best fondant work, but the birthday boy and parents loved. Note to self - if its so hot the fondant is melting - turn on the AC! 9 x 13 cut in half and stacked on itself, carved. Covered in raspberry red mmf. Rice paper for the logos (thanks chubbycheeks for the help).

Toilet Cake
Her is my second toilet cake. The first one was over a year ago so I was scared I would forget how to do it. I did not know how to use fondant on the first one - now that's all I seem to use so this one got a fondant treatment! Time was not my friend on this one, it was needed in the middle of the week so I had a hard time fitting it in. If I had more time (or more hours in the day) I would have added more detail to it. But, overall, I guess I'm happy with it.

Dora In Red
If it's a cake for a 2 or 3 year old girl, it's got to be Dora! This is my 5th or 6th Dora cake. The mom wanted it to have lots of red and a valentines feel....so this is what I came up with. I've always wanted to try a checkered type cake, and I was wanting to practice making daisies (they are my favorite flower). It was a lemon cake with raspberry filling. I made the red mmf with raspberry crystal light powder... it helped to make it really red and the mmf tasted great!

The Ark
OK, I stole this cake directly out of a Wilton book - but it really fit the baby shower theme and mom - she's a minister. I really wanted to practice sculpting figures out of gumpaste and I figured this one would give me some practice. I was about 85% happy with how it came out, but as we all know, practice makes perfect. It's a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling.

Topsy Turvy Dora
This is the third or fourth topsy turvy Dora cake I have done in the last few months - all for 3 year old girls. I keep trying to do them a little bit different so they all don't look identical. I really enjoyed this one. All mmf. Choc and yellow cakes. The birthday girly squealed when I dropped it off, so I guess that was a good sign. Thanks for looking!

Rams Topsy Turvy
This was a special cake for a special 5 year old with CP. He loves football and his aunt wanted him to have a fun, wacky shaped cake with things jumping out of it. Cake covered in mmf, hand painted, royal icing trails painted with gold luster dust. This took a long time...but it was fun and I was pleased. She shapes jumping out are chocolates from a Rams mold and other fun football shapes.

Princess Pillow Cake
This was my special cake of the weekend. It was for my 6 year old niece. I've been wanting to try a pillow cake for a long time and finally got to do one. The base is a 8" round, the middle cake is a 9" square cut to shape, and the top is a 8" square pan. The tiara was made out of gumpaste and hand painted. The whole cake was luster dusted and the pearls were gumpaste.

Spongebob For Lilly
Wow, this cake was a lot of work. It's the biggest party cake I've done (feeds 50). Chocolate Cake with oreo cream filling, and Bavarian Yellow cake with whipped chocolate ganache. Characters are color flow. Cakes covered in mmf and dusted with white shimmer. Chocolates are luster dusted with gold, silver and super pearl. Sea weed and flowers are royal icing....had a lot of fun with this one. Inspiration came from sugarshack...much thanks to all my cc friends who helped with all my silly Q's.

Tater's Cupcakes
Little sister wanted in get in on the decorating action too...so this is my 3 year olds first decorating job. She tried really hard to ice her cupcakes - but asked Mommy for a little help. She cut out the mmf stars and pained all but one herslef...big sister helped her with the rest. So now all the girls in the house have been bit by the decorating bug!

Kat's Kupkakes
This is my 8 year old daughters 3 decorating job - done all by herself. She even helped do the baking. We took these to a party along side of my Uncle Sam Slide cake - and she got more complements than I did (and rightly so!). The kids gobbled up her cupcakes faster than any other dessert. BC icing - mmf accents all hand painted. She did an awsome job...we are so proud of her.

Uncle Sam Hat
This is the 2nd cake I did for the 4th. This was my nightmare cake...from baking to filling to decorating. I was happy to just get it done and over with. The only plus was that I used the Wilton spray on color for the first time and loved the ease of coloring fondant....now I can't wait to get an airbrush.

Uncle Sam's Slide

2 Birds With One Stone
This is my 2 birds with one stone cake. I took a fondant class last night so I was already decorating a cake - and I had a new family start at my work - so, I turned it into their welcome cake. In my class I leared how to do swags, drapes and ribbon roses. I still need some more practice, but I guess it turned out OK. I just hope the family this is for will enjoy it.

Princess Luau
This was my 8 year old dd's second caked she did (almost all by herself). The flowers were left over from her birthday party - she helped paint them. She also painted the tiera that I had made for practice. She torted, filled and did most of the icing all by herself. Picked her own colors and decorated all by herself. She has been bitten by the cake decorating bug too! Thanks for looking at it. She loves that!

Spongeberry Doradumpling
This was one of my first topsy turvy cakes so my fondant work was not that great, but this is still one of my favorite cakes of all times. I called it Spongeberry Dorradumpling. It was for my daughters third birthday she is now about to turn 6where does the time go. She couldn't decide between Spongebob, Dora and Strawberry Shortcake or Apple Dumpling. So I gave them all to her. The Strawberry Shortcake and Apple Dumpling figurines were mine from 27 years ago.
