Fitz's & Tostino's
So I got to splerge a little this year with my income tax return and got an eatable image printer. So I used it to make my daughters 13th birthday cake. She loves pizza rolls and Fitz's cream soda (bottled in St. Louis). No one could believe it was real. My skills as a graphic designer are more evident in this than my decorating skills, but it was such a fun cake to make. This is also the first time I had made poured sugar bottles.

All Mixed Up Kids Cake
Several years ago (like 5 actually) I did a cake for my 3 year old daughter that had several kids themes on it (called Spongeberry Doradumpling). It was one of my first topsy turvy cakes and I was so proud of it. History has repeated itself and my son who turned 4 could not decide what he wanted so I went back in time and mixed it up again. This is a mixture of Spongebob, Spiderman, Scooby Doo and Phineaus and Ferb. I hope you all enjoy this one as much as you enjoyed my first.

Boy's Bathroom
I was excited to do this one...she asked for another toilet cake...but I talked her into a full bathroom scene. This was for a man's 40th birthday party. It's a mans bathroom complete with a stack of naughty magazines, the little blue pills, hair tonic, prep-H cream, and dentures. The ice was made with little bits of dried gumpaste mixed with silk white luster dust and white sparkle dust. The base, toilet, bathtub, and sink basin are all cake. The decorations are made of gumpaste and fondant. Magazines and labels on the beer were printed on paper. Coolest part, 3 of the magazine covers were from the year he was born.

Graduation Barney
This was for a graduation party that happened to fall on his 21st birthday. His mom wanted to give him his favorite character from when he was a kid...and that was Barney. This was made of six stacked cakes ranging from 6" to 10". Head is stryofoam. All covered in white and airbrushed in purple.

Death By Chocolate
This was for my girls combo birthday party. They wanted a candy cake with M&M's....so here is what we came up with. My 11 year old covered the top two tiers. Everything was stuck on with chocolate. The M&M's on top were made of gumpaste. It was a skate party so the M&M's are wearing rollerskates.

Surfing Spongebob
This is my son's birthday cake. He is turning two and loves "Bob-Bob". I used an internal pvc pipe structure. It's four sheet cakes cut in half and stacked on top of each other. It's huge. Only problem is that I forgot to put supports in between each section...so I'm anticipating it collapsing some time before the party tomorrow. How does a person forget to put supports in? I'm shaking my head in shame. "Dear God," please don't let my cake collapse because of my own stupidity." Fortunately my son is only 2 so he won't be able to use this against me in the future...hehehe

Internal Structure For M&m Skateboard Cake
This is the internal structure for my M&M Skateboard cake. The cake part of this is the skateboard and the board it is on is a real skateboard. The pvc structure is attached to the skateboard and the skateboard is bolted onto a wood board. My husband helped hook everything together, it was really funny because he really got into it.

M&m Skateboard
A few weeks ago at a local cake club meeting, I learned how to build an internal cake structure out of pvc pipe, and couldn't wait to try it. My nephews said they wanted two M&M's on a skateboard for their party, so I decided to go for it. It does not look nearly as good in reality as it did in my head, but I got it done and everyone was impressed at the party. Lots of first on this - first time making and using modeling chocolate for the bodies, I used Sugarveil for the paint splatters, pvc pipe internal structure, and we got to use power tools to build the stand. I'd love to hear what you think. TFL.

You've Been Naughty
You've been naughty, so here's the scoop, all you get for Christmas is snowman poop. This was a cake done for a co-workers birthday this week. She insisted that we not have a party for her - so we punished her by throwing her a party with a twist. The cake is covered in boiled icing....this was the first time I had ever made this type of icing...it was really good! The snowman was made out of gumpaste. The saying was based on a goofy poem I've heard at Christmas.
