Matthew And Kristin's Wedding
This summer, I have made both of my sons' wedding cakes! That's right, two sons married within 8 weeks of each other! This was my younger son's cake. Much of the concept was designed by his bride. She sketched and idea and I ran with it. Each tier was a different flavor. From the bottom round it was 16", 14', 12" 10" and the anniversary tier is 7". Based on various charts it served around 230 without the anniversary tier. I had an additional 8" cake in the kitchen in case I had not estimated correctly, but the main cake was perfect and we did not need the 8".

Sugar Babies
Just a sampling of 36 total I made for a dear friend's baby shower. No two were alike and were dressed through the seasons, holidays, bathing suit, mermaid, florals, etc. Each rested their heads upon a gumpaste daisy which was atop a cupcake inside a clear display box. I am estimating they averaged about 3 hours each as I worked on them 3-4 hours a night over the course of 4 weeks. The other pictures show them boxed up and ready to go to the shower and the additional ones whose pictures turned out in focus! Some viewers have asked about the mold. It is from First Impressions and can be purchased through them or other reputable sites such as Global Sugar Art. Thanks for looking.

X Box Groom's Cake
I did this as a gift to the groom. My son's told me to use "the red ring of death" as the push button signal vs. the green. Apparently, it is a well know symbol among gamers that the system is worn out and ready to expire. The bride is the one who wanted it to read, "Game Over. " Thankfully, the groom has a great sense of humor.

October Wedding
This was my gift to my son's best friend and his new bride. It is the largest cake I've ever made! Can you spell s-t-r-e-s-s? LOL, I asked for all kinds of advice on this and have been caking for years! Guess its size just kinda knocked the confidence out of me. The gumpaste topper replicates the flowers and colors used in the wedding and at the tables of the reception --plum, hydrangea green, and sunset. .

50Th Wedding Anniversary
Done for a friend's parent's who were married in a December wedding. The topper is their original which had aged to the perfect colors for a 50th celebration. Her original bouquet consisted of orchids and poinsettias which I used as accents on the cake and can be seen in larger detail on the companion photo. Thanks for looking!

50Th Anniversary Luau
This was made for a couple celebrating their 50th Anniversary. their daughter was throwing a Luau and wanted a tropical themed cake, but also wanted to incorporate their original topper. I chose to create bamboo, orchids, jasmine, hibiscus, and and lilies out of gumpaste and to use it all to incorporate her theme. Thanks for looking!

Monster High Clawdeen
I had no idea what a "Monster High cake" was when my niece requested one. I did a little research and came up with this cake as "Clawdeen" is her favorite character. . She always celebrates her birthday on Thanksgiving. It's dusted in disco for a bit of sparkle. Clawdeen is printed on ricepaper and was give a Royal Icing frame colored with Aztec Gold dust mixed with vodka. TFL!

Country Kitchen
I never got around to uploading this pic from Cincinnati Sugar Art Show back in March. I actually placed First in Advanced with this, as well as Best of Division. It is a pretty close replica of my kitchen. I love working in miniature, and this was so much fun to do! the calendar on the side of the fridge actually has the dates of this past year's show circled. Details such as breast cancer ribbon to honor my mom and a picture of our dog drawn by my son are also seen on my real fridge at home. Thanks for looking!

Kitchen Themed Shower Cake
This cake was made for a Bride whose wedding colors are sage and lavender. The shower is Kitchen-themed and all that was requested was that I get a rolling pin into it somehow. I thought a utensil crock would be a fun idea. Everything is edible --either crafted from gumpaste, fondant, or modeling chocolate. Thanks for looking!
