Nurse Nikki
Created for Nurse Nikki who just graduated, her mom requested a cake to tell the story of her first time in the operating room. The Doctor handed her the gall bladder & said it’s very important that she count every gall stone for the patients record (though some are about the size of a grain of sand – impossible task!) So we gave her the “Oh no Mr. Bill!” face, & the patient was made to look like her husband, haha… this was SO FUN to execute!

Vintage Festival Crates
Crooked cake with painted on buttercream to achieve the "old wood" look. Logo on middle tier was an edible image. After delivery there was an accident where someone actually sprayed the cake with a hose for about 20 seconds! Thankfully nothing on our dessert table was ruined. =)

Bella's Cake For Lilli
I did NOT have enough time... I had tinted the fondant, however not good enough. I decorated this cake after my daughter's 14th birthday party had started. I could NOT find red gerbera's anywhere, but had one on-hand. I made the letters for "Lilli" way too big, but didn't have time to re-do them. I felt the other flowers were placed well... and if I would have known of this contest, I would have done the red gerbera's in gumpaste and placed the other flowers & candles around the base! My daughter is SO into Twilight, this was so much fun to do for her... (even if it served about 63... for 6 girls!) The neighborhood was happy the next day. =)

Man Cave In The Forest
His wife wanted him sitting on the couch watching TV, with a magazine of The Oakland A's baseball team - all in the forest. So, this is what I came-up with. The trees are chocolate fondant around lollipop sticks, the tree tops are white fondant which I wrapped around into smooth "triangles", then roughed them up with a small knife to get the textured look. Couch is chocolate fondant, all other 3D pieces are white fondant; the river is piping gel, and the ground is chocolate frosting with some coconut shavings dyed brown (trying to get a "forest floor" look). This was my first time with a human figure, and he kind of looked like the guest of honor =)

Purple Fairy
2/4/8" BC Tiers, mixed fondant & gumpaste fairies, flowers & bow (leaves in BC). The fiary on top was made to look like the birthday girl, and there were 3 other fairies "peeking". One you can see the back of (head & wings on the right), there are feet under the flower cluster on the bottom, and a hand is coming out from behind the left side of the ribbon. I was so happy with this cake, it was really hard not to continue, but I felt it could have been over-done & ruined!

3D Master Yoda
I created him using the stand-up Winnie the Pooh cake pan, all decoration is BC. His staff is a wooden skewer colored with food coloring, and his ears are BC decorated cardboard. You can't see his hair too good in this pic, but I used a #1 tip & did individual strands, which hang down instead of clinging to his head. My first Yoda attempt, he was a lot of fun. The message reads, "To you, happy birthday Gus" =)

Mack Truck Hay Hauler
Don't ask how I did this! =) The smoke stacks are straws coered with tin foil - now that I've worked a little with fondant, I wish I would have done that... The rest is yellow cake with chocolate BC, except the exterior is vanilla BC. I carved the "cab" as best as I could, and had to add some small pieces back on the top, here & there. The door signs were printed & laminated paper, since the writing was SO small, I never could have made it look right with BC. The hay was "textured" with a wooden skewer!

Wilton's Daisy Chain (My Alternate Version)
I previously uploaded Wilton's "Daisy Chain" to a forum discussion, and now I'm uploading the picture of my cake, which is similar - however the Bride wanted an orange base coat of frosting & then various blue & orange stripes, plus the 3 live gerbera daisies (& no topper). This is my first wedding cake with fondant accents. All white daisies & stripes are fondant.

3D Xbox Controller
I love this cake, the picture does not do it justice! People thought it was real! I baked a square cake & carved-away at it. I used a tape measure to make sure of width & depth... I used a DH pre-packaged frosting from the grocery store which holds-up really well for these type of decorations. Read the message from the Bride to the Groom - hilarious (well, incase you can't read it, it says "Paul, Let the games begin, Love, Your Wife"... I love it! =)

Mr. Hankey, The Birthday Pooh
This is a character from the show SouthPark. My brother loves "Mr. Hankey the Christmas Pooh", and his work ordered this cake from me. It is chocolate cake... "his" right arm is a wooden skewer dipped into black frosting with some fanci-foil formed to hold the frosting I used to make his hand. I used the 3D Cross pan, and just filled in the horizontal "arms" of the cross with tin-foil & carved him out.

007 License To Kill
This cake was for a 21 year old grandson, from his grandmother. She explained to me that she was telling him she cannot believe he's 21, and he goes, "I know Grandma, License to Kill!", so she thought this would be really cute & was SO excited about it. I just had to share, thanks for looking!

5 Tier Lily With Ivy
This cake is all buttercream except for the gumpaste lily's. The bride wanted a very plain, white cake, except for a garland of lily's & ivy sweeping down one side... however, it was 117 degrees that day! So, I didn't completely fill-in with lily's, incase they started slinking down, which she was fine with. So, really scary delivering & assembling in that heat, I had to assemble in an office with AC & then my husband & brother had to carry it about 20 yards! But it all worked-out great! Thanks for looking!

Cars Lightning Mcqueen
This was for a little girl who was born on the 4th of July, so we added fireworks around her name & a red, white & blue border! I was very happy with how he turned-out! I used the "NASCAR" pan, but it was a little long. Next time I may try cutting a portion of the middle out - but that is also a very scary idea! Thanks for looking!

Bee Hive
My friend asked me to make a cake for her BBQ tomorrow - whatever I wanted to do. I saw a bee hive once & always wanted to do one, so it came to mind... I did a search here at cake central, for "bee", and then "bee hive". I looked at all your wonderful creations & came-up with my own. I wish I had taken note of your names, thank you so much for the inspiration! This was so much fun! :D

Dolphin Beach Birthday
This was for my daughter's 10th birthday. She saw a cake I made before of a Palm Tree laying flat on the cake board & she said she would like a palm tree on the beach with a sunset.... and she LOVES dolphins! So, I have an old Wilton 3D Bunny pan - I cut-away at the ears sticking straight-up to form the palm. The dolphin was carved out of another old Wilton 3D pan - the "Loveable Animal", it looks kind of like Simba as a cub. Thanks for looking!
