Scrolls And Roses
This was for my cousin's wedding. The bride chose rounds with scrolls and fresh roses. Loved the roses she picked, they were actually white on the outside, called Nicole Roses. This one made me a nervous wreck, i've never had a mirror behind the cake....that's where all the goofs go! Flavors were white chocolate with cookies n cream filling and strawberry with choc. ganache filling. Buttercream icing.

Bridging Ceremony
This was for my daughter's Brownie Troop bridging ceremony to Junior Scouts. Cake was yellow with cookies/cream filling. Bridge/rainbow was carved out of 1/2 an 8" round pound cake. Thanks so much to all you guys for your inspiration! If I didn't have CC, I'd only have WM and grocery stores for inspiration.....yuk!!

Limes And Daisies
I had a hard time wrapping my brain around the lime/daisy theme, but I think it came together ok. This one didn't travel well AT ALL!! Thankfully I had lots of extra icing and all my tools with me. I had to redo the entire top tier and fix the bottom the best I could. Tasted good though, we enjoyed the scraps! Rum cake with fresh pineapple filling. I cut the sweetness of the icing with popcorn salt so it would accent the pineapple and not over-run it.

Winter Wedding
I wasn't sure how this would turn out when the bride wanted a BLUE wedding cake. When all was said and done, I kind of liked it...shows ya what I know! 5-tier - 18" round, 15" hex, 12" hex, 8" round, 6" hex. Fondant bow, RI snowflakes and satin ribbon. Ribbon sucked up the grease from the bc, so I ended up using clear contact paper on the back of it...worked great! Cake sat on 4 glass blocks filled with white lights and tule around it....btw, don't put 100 light strand in the blocks-gets too hot!!

Fall Wedding
10" square, 8" round, 6" square. Fresh roses, buttercream. Top assembled in a "blob" of fondant to hold it. The rose stems on each corner were covered with plastic wrap before inserted in the cake. I need more practice on my scrolls, they weren't all the same. For some reason my hand kept going in a different direction. Wish I could find a scroll press that I liked! TFL!!!!

Noah's Ark
First birthday cake, fondant animals, buttercream icing. Ark is Wilton oval pan (comes in the course 2 kit) with a square cut out of scraps. Animals are on toothpicks. Thanks to all for the inspiration, I couldn't do it without my CC friends! Oh, and the smash cake is supposed to be a whale. It gave me more trouble than the rest of the cake! :-)

Golden Anniversary
This was for my in-law's 50th anniverary. I used their original topper on a white/ivory base I found at a local supply shop. Cross between sota's & cornelli lace used. I couldn't get the sota's on the side, so I improvised! Thanks to all you guys for the inspriation, I NEVER start a cake without checking the gallery first!

Gumpaste Baby
My entry for the Carolina Cake Show 2008. I won 2nd place in the intermediate, non-tiered special occasion category. I didn't even expect to place this year because I moved up from the beginner category to intermediate, so I was really surprised when they called my name! Thanks so much to Ainne2 for the tutorials and inspiration and all of my cc family for the support and great ideas! This was a gumpaste baby with fondant accents on the sides and fondant blocks.

Farm
This is my daughter's entry for the Carolina Cake Show, 2008. She won FIRST PLACE in the 8 & under division, I'm SO proud of her! Fondant animals, RKT barn, butter cookies stacked over a wooden dowel for the silo (sp?). She modeled it after one that I've done, which I got my inspiration from so many of you guys! Thanks CC family!!

40Th Birthday
This cake was a total decorating flop!!! The birthday girl loves pink and black, so I was planning to cover it in pink rbc and pipe black scrolls, etc. The rbc absolutely fell to pieces when I put it on the cake, it was WAY too soft! I did the best I could to salvage the cake (I only had 45 minutes!) The pink accents are what I salvaged of the RBC. Tasted great though, Italian cream top and bottom w/ cream cheese filling and yellow cake with strawberry filling for the middle tier
