Frog Prince Cupcake Cake
I kind of threw this together for my husband for valentine's day. He wanted cupcakes for work and my friend had given me some adorable valentine frog cupcake liners, so this is what he got. Kind of a joke, but I knew the cupcakes would get eaten! I realized belately that the pink trim makes it look more feminie and more like a turban than a crown, but oh well...

Caramel Cake
Informal wedding cake for a friend. She wanted cooked caramel icing (kind of like fudge), so she knew it wouldn't be smooth. They asked for vines/scrolls with some small wildflower-type flowers. 10 and 8 inch tiers. Caramel fosting with buttercream vines and borders and fondant flowers.

Beach Cupcakes
Made these cupcakes for a friend's birthday. He loves German Chocolate, but we were doing a beach theme, so I couldn't resist doing the beachy ones I had seen in the "Baker's Field Guide to Cupcakes" too. I hate we didn't get a good close-up picture, but they are covered in blue buttercream with graham cracker crumbs for sand and topped with an umbrella pick.

Racing Go Kart
Birthday cake I made my nephew. Chocolate cake covered all in fondant. He races go-karts, so I wanted to make a replica of his cart. I used a NASCAR pan my SIL had and cut the top of the cake off. Part of my DH's present to him was his own website, so I put the URL on the hood of the car.

St. Patrick Birthday
First cake I've ever decorated outside of Wilton classes (am taking fondant class now). For a friend's 6-yr old whose b-day party was on St. Patrick's day. He LOVES reptiles, hence the alligator/drogon/snake creature guarding the pot of gold. Bottom (blue) is 10" chocolate fudge cake with choc. buttercream under fondant. Pot is yellow cake with buttercream. Reptile is fondant. LOTS of things wrong with it this cake but I was very happy w/it.
