My First Purse Cake
I made this for a PTO event at my dd's elementary school, using briansbaker's tutorial (thankyou!). I think it came out okay for my first time. I've never done any carving before, now I can't wait to try again. Vanilla caramel cake, buttercream frosting and filling, white chocolate fondant accents

Princess Cake
Practice Cake - just wanted to try a couple things. 1st time making a royal icing crown and also 1st attempt at using stencils and royal icing for designs on the side (bottom tier). Cake is covered in MMF and I used an impression mat on the top tier. Also my 1st time using impression mat on fondant (have only used it 1 other time and that was on BC). Definitely need more practice but, overall I was pretty happy with how this turned out.

Hello Kitty Top View
I made this cake for my daughter's 4th birthday. I used a gel transfer to outline Hello Kitty and the flowers on the sides. I probably could have done the flowers freehand but figured this would help with size/shape consistency. With the border, I should have positioned the flowers a bit higher. Oh well, with each new cake comes something learned. This is a 3 layer 12"x12", buttercream filling with 1 layer each of chocolate, yellow and strawberry. I was trying for a neopolitan look (see next pic).

1St Bridal Shower Cake
I made this for my sister's bridal shower. Still need a lot of practice with fondant. Can't seem to get that "crisp" look that so many here have. Had a lot of air bubbles and wasn't as level as I would have hoped but, overall I was pleased. My sister loved it. My second attempt at cornelli lace. 12", 10", and 8", each layer torted 2x's. From top to bottom: banana cake with strawberry filling, chocolate cake with strawberry filling, vanilla cake with buttercream filling.

Bratz Birthday Cake
I made this for my dd's 5th birthday. Chocolate cake, strawberry filling, covered in fondant. I'm not very good at drawing or painting. I traced the picture onto parchment paper, placed the parchment paper on the fondant and used a toothpick trace over it. It left enough of an imprint to see the outline after I removed the parchment. I painted the BRATZ picture with icing color. I need to get something better to cut fondant pieces with, I wasn't happy with how jagged the BRATZ letters came out.

Easter Cookies
I made these to take to Easter at my grandmother's. Come dessert time, she wouldn't let the kids eat them. She said they looked too pretty and she didn't want to see them "destroyed." She made the poor kids wait until it was time to go and then she passed them out. (Although a few kids snuck into them, hehe.) I used antonia74's icing recipe. To some of the colors, I added Lorann Oils orange extract.

Gift Packages
Made this as part of Wilton Course III. My 2nd all fondant covered cake, 1st attempt at MMF. A few problems, but learned a lot. MMF was too dry, so "elephant skin" appearance and some cracks (able to cover some with flowers). When I trimmed the bottom, I cut it a little too short in some spots, so I tried to hide it with the bead border - class book called for tip 5, I used # 10 to try and cover my mistake. Overall, pretty happy with how it came out. Open to constructive criticism - thanks.

Snowboard Stunts
I made this cake for my godson's birthday. He is taking snowboarding lessons. This is my 2nd FBCT. Still need to work on using enough pressure to get rid of the lines. This was ALMOST a DISASTER . As I was tilting the cake to try and place snowflakes on the side, the cake slid on the board (forgot to use icing to anchor it). When I tried to fix it, the whole cake ended up sliding off the turntable and onto the counter. Fortunately, there wasn't too much damage and was able to touch up a bit!!

Scooby Doo Cookies
I made these cookies for my daughter's birthday party. The kids loved them (some of the adults too)! I used the No Fail Sugar Cookie Recipe and antonia74's icing. I was short on time (to allow drying), so I put all of the black details first and then filled in with the brown. Next time I think I will try the brown first and then go back and add the detail.

Emma's Baptism
I got the idea for this cake from CC member mari. I loved her design and couldn't wait to try it! This is my first time with a stacked cake and the first time using an impression mat. Of course the area I screwed up with the impression mat, I had intended to make sure that was the back of the cake but, it ended up front and center. Oh well. Top and bottom tiers are french vanilla cake with banana mouse. The middle tier is chocolate cake with raspberry cream filling.

Rose Top
This is my first attempt at fondant (roses are bc), 4 layer chocolate cake with bc filling. I used Satin Ice. Not happy with how the sides looked. There are a lot of seams and you can see where the cake layers are. Better luck next time. Practice, practice, practice. Although, I am pretty happy with my bc roses.

Pirouline Cookie Cake
Birthday cake for a man. Chocolate Cake with 2 layers of raspberry filling iced in buttercream with pirouline cookies around the cake. I used a simple blue ribbon to wrap around the cake (no bow, just used icing to stick the ends together). I made a white chocolate plaque to place on top and used navy icing to write on it (forgot to take pic).

Elmo Birthday Cake
I made this for my godson's 1st b-day. I got the idea from the galleries (pinkflamingo - thanks). I found out the night before that they were coming over and wanted something cute but not too difficult since I didn't have much time to prepare. The eyes & nose were made from cake balls dipped in white chocolate but, I made them a little too big and of course I didn't realize until after I had dipped them and I only had those three. I had to scrape off icing and redo the mouth and some fur to accomodate.

Shrek Birthday Cake
My 2nd order/sale. This is a birthday cake I did for twin 2 year old girls. The only requests were yellow cake and cookies and cream filling. The rest was up to me. Thanks to everyone here at CC for the great suggestions. The bottom is a 10" round and for the Onion Carriage I used the Wondermold pan. The daisies and wagon wheels were made with royal icing and the gingerbread men are colorflow. Thanks for looking.
