A bird native to Australia, this was ordered by my neighbour, who's daughter has tamed some and they fly down every day and eat out of her hand.
Had to do a trout theme. The customer emailed me a photo of her husband's reel, hat and a fish to copy.
A friend gave me a photo she had found and asked me to make the same carousel, with a circus theme. I had no idea until I just searched the others here, that it was a Wilton product! Wow - I could have saved a lot of time!!!!!! The top is made of rice krispies. The only thing not edible is the dowels.
This was inspired by a cake done by Springlakecake. Stacked and carved from an 11 inch square cake. Fondant with buttercream "wool".
Customer wanted writing in navy, the same as the 80's. I decided, rather than mixing up a separate batch of RI, I'd just roll thin pieces of the gumpaste, then I wouldn't have to worry about matching the colour. Arrrrrrrg! It took ages!!!!!
Roman numerals for a girl turning 20. Buttercream with gumpaste flowers. It is 2 x 10 inch cakes, one chocolate and one vanilla.
The frangipanis around the sides are made from a mold. The one on top was molded out of gumpaste. Wasn't very easy!!
Bottom tier is white choc mud cake and top tier is choc mud cake. I'm disappointed in the colour of the photo. The purple was quite vibrant. Oh, well! I really enjoyed decorating this!!
My first cupcake cake. It's carved from a 6" and 5". Covered in fondant, with a fondant cherry.
BC with fondant accents. Georgia's name, and the stars are dusted with silver snowflake lustre dust.
This is a replica of the birthday boys' guitar. I wish I could work out some way of doing straight lines for the strings :( I was disappointed, but the customer was thrilled! (She's obviously not a perfectionist!)
All BC. A bit plain, but it's what the customer asked for. The 24 is the number on the child's motorbike.
