4" high 10+12=68 party servings or 94 wedding servings
4"high 8+10= 48 party servings or 62 wedding servings
Are these "cake people" or teenagers that want lots of cake? Older people who only want a bite? Will there be other food? Do you want leftovers? Do want a large show stopper impact cake?
That will dictate whether you make the 10+12 or the 8+10.
AI do not think an 8/10 looks rio good design wise. The 8" cake is kind of big to go on top. Is there anyway you can make the design a 3 tier cake? A 6/8/10 would do nicely. Here's what an 8/10 would look like...kind of funny to me
ANormally I agree [@]Morganchampagne[/@], like loudly agree...lol. But here's an instance where a big top tier would be just right, as long as the hat on top was big too, yeah?
This is a cake for "cake people" :) and the tiers will be 4" tall.
What do you guys think the size of the tiers are in this picture?
I really want it to be 2 tiers. From the woody and buzz cakes I have seen that are 2 tiers..most of them have been similar to the sizing used here ( the top tier is almost as big as the bottom tier)
AEh. You guys might be right....even with a big hat though Its still not my first choice. But that doesn't matter here lol.
Out of the two choices I would probably do an 8/10 :)
Usually I would not go w/a large top tier........ but in this case I think it makes the whole overall look, so go w/the 12/9 or 10. As was said, as long as the hot is large enough to cover that top it's going to be fine.....Considering that you want lg servings why not?
AI don't know what cake for cake people means, I use the same chart for all orders. If they don't think a cake that serves 20 people is enough for their 20 person guest count, they're welcome to order more and pay for it as well.

OP sounded (to me) like it was a personal cake, that is why my first answer was the Wilton "party" servings and Wilton "wedding" servings. In my family, and for personal use, I don't calculate a "serving" in the same way. A Wilton "wedding" serving is not enough cake, one hamburger is not enough (for some, not all) and 4oz. of meat is not enough meat. If it was a cheesecake, in my house, it is TWO to THREE ("normal" sized) servings per person!
Yes, for selling it, I would say price it according to the chart and charge accordingly.

Yes, agreed. Just trying to help size it.....no mention of pricing at this point.

Definitely things to consider in sizing. THEN price it accordingly.
AYes I'm sorry I completely forgot to mention I will be making this cake for my nephew :) (not charging)
