I am a big fan of bling, so it is pretty. Are the jewels on the sides edible? If so I'm impressed!
ANo, unfoetunately they're not edible...I have never worked with isomalt and didn't want to make a mess on my brother's cake lol but I think I shall be trying my luck with some isomalt soon!!
it had to be breathtaking in person -- the picture is very good but in person you would get the refractions of fifty thousand facets -- it's awesome -- you did a great job -- i'm sure you needed a personal secretary to help you field all the congratulatory comments ;)
one burning question -- why did it take three hours?

It took way longer than I thought because I had to screw the legs of the stand between the boards and the acrylic stand to then screw into the legs to go on the middle and top tier...The holes in the board weren't matching exactly and then we had to get a pvc pipe and take out some cske the same size as the legs of the stand arghhhh it was a nightmare
AThank you so much everyone...The pic doesn't really do it much justice but I'm so glad u all like it **proud moment**

oh ouch painful just to hear about -- you rocked it though --
AAw thank you so much!! So far all I've heard is...The stand is lovely, or I love the stand but everyone at the wedding absolutely loved the cake too so I'm happy!!
Nice cake! What flavour did you do? Fruit or sponge? I had a recent disaster with Isomalt (the cake in my avatar) - it went cloudy and was very, very sticky. Probably should have practised loads but in the end had to rush out and buy some jelly gems which worked fine. Your gems must have cost as much as the cake!
AAw thanks days cakes It was all plain sponge with Bc and jam I've never made a fruit cake, I believe it has to be left in some sort of alcohol? So I can't do it for Religious reasons.
The gems cost £80 in total and since the cakw was his wedding gift I thought...why not? Although he was kind enough to give them back to me!
