I have some mixes that are getting old and I'd love to use them rather than throw them out.  The only ideas I have found on the internet are for cookies and cakes.  I'd really would like something else if it's possible.  Who can come up with an idea for me? :)

bake the cake and put some gravy on it.  everything is good with gravy.  

Ok a more serious answer, you may be able to add a lot of flour to a white or yellow mix and try making dumplings for a stew or soup.   I agree that it's the sugar that may kill any savory use.

Add some cornmeal, corn, jalapenos and cheese! Season with plenty of green onions and garlic!

I'm picturing sweet rolls made with yeast and half flour/half cake mix.  They would be great for pulled pork, sausage patties, and anything that might have a sweet and sour thing going on.  They tend to go well with barbecue and smoked items. Perfect for summer.

Could you mix the cake mix with some butter and maybe, say, parsley or other herbs, press it into a pie plate or springform pan, bake it, fill it with quiche ingredients, e,g, eggs, bacon. cheese, herbs, etc., and bake again?

Take a box of Jiffy cornbread mix with what the box says to add. Then take the cake box and add those ingredients called for on cake box. Put all together in bowl and  bake in 9 x 13 pan at 350 degrees. I normally bake according to what the cake box says how long to cook in 9 x 13 pan. May have to cook a few minutes longer since you are adding them together.  I have done this several times and everyone loves this type of cornbread, cake mix mixed together.

I have not made this in a long time because I now only cook cakes from scratch. I forgot about it. Maybe someone else here will have a better idea than me.
