Isomalt?? Sugar?? If anyone can help I would appreciate it so very much. I just need to know how the cake ice is made.
Thank you
Look up microwave rock Candy - I love that stuff, it is so easy to make and it might be just what you are looking for.
My guess is isomalt. A non-baker friend just melted lollipops on a tray and broke it in to pieces to put on a Frozen cake for her daughter. I was surprised how well the pieces turned out. If you don't want to mess with isomalt, that may be worth a try.
Nope, not isomalt. I just made a Frozen themed cake earlier this year. I used the recipe for the ice from here:

Just change the coloring and flavor accordingly. HTH!
cook some sugar and add in the blue coloring, then just pour it on to some parchment paper and let it cool.
I have worked with isomalt in a high humidity place it does holds better than regular sugar, but eventually it's going to melt, but if you live in a dry city i think isomalt can works just fine.

AClaire, I used, 1 and half cups of sugar, 3/4 cup of corn syrup, and 1/2 cup of water.
