AI've been thinking the same thing, I've noticed a lot of members have disappeared. Me thinks they've found some wonderful new forum and left us....
Ha, I knew exactly who you were going to say because I had noticed her missing as well.
She was having health issues, I hope she is okay. She also had to go gluten-free, so maybe she's not baking right now.
AFunny, I was about to post the same question. I noticed her absence weeks ago. I remember she talked about health issues, and shortly after, she stopped posting here. Hopefully she's OK
She's in my pocket. She's doing very well just very busy. Sometimes, I forget to feed her.
AHaha!
I just KNEW, when she didn't chime in on that stupid snarky stalking meaniepants copyright thread, that she was MIA.
It is so sweet that the cake community here is so close though and are aware when a regular member is not as active. I will keep her in my prayers and hope she is doing well.. and not in someone's pocket.. lol although running of with a tall dark stranger sounds like a plan.
:)
She's already married to a tall, dark, handsome, caring, loving, handy, clever man. She doesn't need to run off!
But if she did, can someone give me her husband's address?
Send your applications...... oh AND a 'donation'
and you too can be part of the party.................. she's having a ball - and says to say thanks for showing her the love !!!
AHI YOU GUYS! Thanks for thinking about me, I have been feeling a lot better since going gluten free, and I don't feel like my poor old body is holding me hostage with nothing but my laptop and CC to keep me company :-) I am still needing naps every couple days, but I feel 1000 times better. I am still baking for clients, and even made some little doves for a fellow CC'er, and I am TRYING not to wait until the last minute to do everything. Previously my cortisol levels were so low that I NEEDED the surge of energy panic gives to give me the oomph to get off my butt and work on a cake. I am doing a lot of gluten free baking on my off days, too. I have made some really tasty chocolate cupcakes, buttermilk biscuits, crackers, thin mint cookies and pancakes, but I am still working on bread and white cake. My white cake and bread and bad enough to make you cry. I am also allergic to xanthum gum, which makes GF baking a challenge, but I am not ready to give up! I also made a GF sausage gravy for this buttermilk biscuits... Needless to say, I am still fat.
I have been fairly active on a very small private Facebook group of CC members, so I really don't need to post on here anymore. It is amazing, we are all adults and don't ask for recipes the day before the cake is due or how to get canned icing to crust, we do our own searches, and dont call each other heartless for actually charging money for a cake. There is no hand slapping and sitting out in the corner, either. We can even say bad words! It is refreshing. We don't have stalkers or pissing matches. It is like a magical land of milk and honey where a conversation can take a natural course, where you can talk about unlicensed bakers undercutting and no one jumps your a$$. We have even had rational discussions about copyright and picture theft. And everyone uses real words, ALL CAPS MEAN YOU ARE YELLING, and there is no text speak. We can also be mean girls!! It is a secret group, by invite only or I would take some of you with me. Sorry!
I have seen that several people sent me PMs, but I don't even look at my CC notifications anymore. I will try to get back with everyone early next week, or so. Additionally, I am allowing my mother to stay here for a while. Her late boyfriend didn't have an updated will, so everything went to his son, and he evicted her. She doesn't have the money to move, so I am stuck with her for a while. We had to rearrange the basement, which has been a 3 day job, and still needs another day! It is just a huge room, and we needed to allow privacy for her, and for my 13 year old twin boys. Also, that is where i keep my Wilton pan collection. So, keeping busy!!
ASee I told you she found some wonderful new forum!! Apparently it goes by the name of 'Facebook' .....
AI'm so glad to hear things are going well for you, well with the exception of how you got your new house guest.
And that you found a way to cut out all the CC BS.
AMe, too, but I don't have a private Facebook, only business. I don't think I can join groups or post on other pages - business or private.
ASuch good news! I haven't been here that long, but I noticed it took a turn. Well maybe it turned before I got here. So good that you have a place to discuss cakes!! I thought I had found an alternative. Maybe I have I'm not sure. But I've been here less than I was in my early days.
Anyways good luck with your GF lifestyle change!!! Wishing you happiness and health
AAnna, glad to hear you are feeling better and that you found a less stressful place to post. Best of luck to you, being allergic to xanthan gum is a bummer but chia seeds, flaxseeds, or agar agar can be used as an alternative binding agent.
A

Well where is the like button on CC when you need one! Hahaha,
Wish we had a GF section here! I've tried a few recipes so far, but not much success!
Ahhh refreshing. All of the good with none of the bad.
