Hi again,
Hoping you guys can point me in the direction of round and square embossed metal cake stands.
I have searched the cake supply stores that I know of and cannot find any,
I am hoping to get something really solid, that will handle my weighty cakes.
Any ideas?
They have those at Hobby Lobby (14") and with your 40% off one item coupon..they end up about $30
Margaret..I think I've bought some plateaus from them too. They have good prices. Here's an ebay store too.

I found some at Amazon for $70 for a 20", and $97 for a 14" Odd, but there are lots listed.
AI really want a plain sq. 14" silver. The one I want is back ordered till Jan & I need one for Oct. any suggestions?
Go on Esty...there is a company that makes them out of a styrofoam of some kind, they hold 200 lbs...and cost is only like $40. They cover them in foil that's embossed. I bought one and I love it! So light yet strong.

What are your opinions (anyone) on a round cake being placed on a square cake stand?

I do it sometimes. Depending on the cake, it looks great.
Oh! Just did one: http://www.verydeliciousdesserts.com/#!Gold-Silver-Pearl/zoom/c1w0q/image1szd
Thanks, that is a beautiful cake! The cake compliments the stand perfectly.
ANow Shanter, of course I googled.
Sadly, the smaller version of mine is back ordered until Jan. I've tried webstaurant, food service retailers, GSA & 2 others I don't remember. No one seems to be able to get one before Jan.
I was hoping someone might now another place.
I apologize Delicious. Of course you googled. I didn't actually look at who posted the cake on the lovely square silver plateau, I just looked at the picture.
Tha's my story and I'm sticking to it.
AHa! I was all shaking my head thinking "did Shanter see that was me? Doesn't Shanter know me well enough to k ow I would google?"
Like how I think you know me so intimately?

Delicious, this one isn't totally plain, just tiny "dents", but it might be something...
ARowantree,
Thanks for the link. The one I see from that link has vines. Did you mean that one? To me, that one is rather ornate.
That's odd--the one I saw was covered with tiny evenly spaced rows of little hammer dents. no vines.

Your cake is so beautiful! Did you order up that sky to compliment your cake? I can see why you are looking for a similar silver one. Your gold one enhances your design and allows the cake to be the centerpiece. I'll keep my eyes out as I am doing some extensive searches these days.
AThank you!
