I decided to start a new thread so this wouldn't get lost in the "Cake Stand" thread.  My UPS guy just dropped this off.  This is the beautiful 14" mahogany cake stand that our very own BatterUpCakes made.  Thank you sooooo much!  I LOVE it!

I am so glad that it arrived safely and that you are pleased! I am working on other designs as well. I currently have a backlog of orders that I am working through. There will be more to come!!

Pleased doesn't begin!  I noticed that when I uploaded the pic it is now in Newest Cakes - I don't know why but it works :)

I have to do the Asian birthday cake first (for the black stand).  Then I will make my own birthday cake and I will use this stand.  Trust me, not just going to sit around :)

AAbout the other one in the cake club thread, I would make the bottom white.

I love the idea of a pink stand, but its limiting. I wouldn't purchase one because it would need to be for one specific cake.

I just painted a stand gold for an event. I'll be painting it white again for another event. Your clients can do the same but it's good to start with white.

Someone just asked me to paint one of my stands gold - I just couldn't bring myself to do it, besides the fact it would have been too much gold.   lol

AI'm not willing to paint some wood like mahogany or cherry. I have a stand made of cheaper wood that I paint.

What kind of paint do you use? I wasn't sure how people would feel about an acrylic but the cake doesnt exactly touch it...and all finishes are non toxic once cured. I purchased some old fashioned milk paint but it has a flat finish so I am going to have to put a gloss over it anyway....

That is absolutely gorgeous! I love the smooth, almost sensual, (can I say that?) lines of the design. I know they are more reasonable than the other site mentioned, but I will have to save up to afford one. I can put that up there with the someday Agbay. (And I can't see how one could ever paint over mahogany or walnut.) It certainly shows quality in craftsmanship. Yup, I have to see it with your cake on it, JWinslow.
