Chocolate Cake Boiling Icing

An intriguing icing that is spread over the cake and then broiled. This gives it a rich caramel flavor.

Chocolate Cake Boiling Icing


  • 5 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 5 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut


1 Preheat oven to broil.

2 In a medium bowl, stir together the melted butter, brown sugar and cream until well blended. Then mix in the coconut. spread over any cake in a 9×13 inch pan.

3 Place under the preheatd broiler for 3 to 5 minutes, until the mixture is bubbly and golden. Be careful not to burn.
