I love chocoflan! These instructions are a little confusing. I'm glad I have the recipe a friend of mine gave me, so i know what you are talking about. I leave mine in the baking pan and when served i turn it over so the flan is on top and drizzle with cajeta. Have you tried using the german chocolate cake mix?

But this is what you have to do, prepare your mold if you use cooking spray then go ahead and spray your pan next I use cajeta instead of cooking the sugar, but if you choose to use sugar you can use brown sugar. . Next prepare your cake mix as directed on the box when done set asides, and continue with making the flan when you have everything ready this is how you layer the choco flan first like I said add the cajeta/brown cooked sugar to the bottom of the mold them add the cake mix followed by the flan mixture. You will need to cover it with foil paper and let it bake for what ever temp. is noted there. I bake mine in a bundt cake pan-inside a water bath
