Simple Chocolate Cake

My Favourite reciepe that I do many time a year, every year for my realtives Birthdays!! taste gorgeous when its undercooked and refrigerated and served with icecream warm or cold….

Simple Chocolate Cake


  • 125g Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1¼ cups SR Flour
  • ½ cup Cocoa
  • 1 tsp Bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 cup Milk
  • Icing/Garnash

  • 125g chocolate melts
  • 60g Butter
  • ¼ cup Cream


  1. Set the oven to 180c (Fan Forced) Line the bottom of a round average sized cake tin. Spraying the sides with Canola oil (Comes in a spray can, otherwise just butter the sides) In a large bowl; Cream Butter and Sugar; add vanilla and egg then mix together. Add all the dry ingredients then mix in the milk. Pour into the cake pan and throw in the oven. Checking it after 20mins that its not burning or over rising, then every 10mins after that until you can put a screwer through and it comes out clean.
  2. For Garnash: Place icing ingredients in a microwave bowl, microwave for 30seconds till it all melts. Mix together till smooth and put in the fridge. Pour on cake once it has cooled down.
  3. This is a Devilious cake…. reheat a piece and pour over thickened cream or icecream… enjoy the chocolate delight!!
