Caramel Cake

Very yummy cake with caramel (fudgy) icing…..yummy!

Caramel Cake


  • CAKE-
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 3 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 2/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 8oz sour cream
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • ICING-

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 4 cups powder sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla


  1. CAKE-
  2. Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add eggs. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt together and blend into the wet mixture. Add sour cream and vanilla and blend well. Bake 30-35 minutes in 2 8 inch pans. Remove and let cool 10 minutes before flipping pan onto a cooling rack. Cool completely before icing.
  3. ICING-
  4. Melt butter in a sauce pan. Add brown sugar and evaporated milk. Cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Mix powdered sugar and vanilla in mixer, then add butter mixture. Mix until smooth. Cool completely (but do not place in refrigerator). Frost cake as quick as possible because icing will thicken like fudge as it sets.

    Will cause you to gain at least 10 lbs just looking at it!!!!!
