Sugar Cookies

Crisp on the outside but chewy.

Sugar Cookies


  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups butter softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix together flour, sugar, salt and baking soda and set aside
  3. In a large bow, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, add vanilla. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients just until blended. Form balls walnut sized and roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart and flatten with glass dipped in sugar.
