My Recipe for shaped cake pans


  • 500grams Butter
  • 500grams natural caster sugar
  • 500grams Self Raising Flour
  • 8 Medium Eggs
  • Pinch of Baking Powder


  1. Allow Butter to reach room temerature (this may take a few hours)
  2. when soft place butter in Mixing bowl then add the Sugar
  3. Mix together until creamy
  4. Then add the eggs and seive the flower & Baking Powder into the bowl mixing gently making sure you do not mix too hard otherwise this will make the cake flat as it will knock out all the air.
  5. Cook on medium oven for approx 1 hour (may take longer depending on your oven)
  6. Leave to cool in the pan for approx 30 minutes to 1 hour and then turn out onto decorating surface and allow to cool before icing..
