World's Best Cookies

I believe that this recipe came from a Food Network cookie swap show. They are very tender cookies and taste wonderful.

World’s Best Cookies


  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup rice krispies


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add vanilla and oil, beat until smooth. Add egg and beat again. In a smaller bowl, combine the flour, salt, soda, and cream of tartar. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture and beat until smooth. In the smaller bowl, combine the pecans, oats, coconut, and rice krispies. Fold into dough mixture. Use a cookie scoop or roll into 1″ balls. Arrange on ungreased or parchment lined cookie sheet, press balls down slightly. Bake for about 10 minutes or until slightly browned. Cool.
