Easy Pumkin Cake

I found this recipe in an old December, 2000 Womans day holiday baking magazine. It’s delicious with homemade cream cheese frosting.


1 pkg. spice cake mix (18.25 oz.)

1 can 100% pure pumkin

3 large eggs

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1/3 cup water


Blend cake mix’ pumkin,eggs,oil and water in large mixing bowl until moisened.

Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. bake according to spice cake pkg. or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool in pans for 10 minuts before removing.

I loved this recipe! It's so easy and had just the right amount of spice with the pumpkin flavor. We made cupcakes and filled them with cream cheese frosting. We'll definitely be making this again.


How big of a can of pumpkin is used? They seem to come in all kinds of sizes from 12 to 28 fluid ounces. Can I possibly use a Butter Pecan mix for this too?
