Just one layer cake. Used the wilton class buttercream recipe and added cocoa to make chocolate. Simple lines and stars.

The lines and stars may be simple but the cake certainly isn't! It's really pretty!
I'm just a newbie, too, but I admire your instincts with the color and "vine placement." Your base buttercream is really smooth. You did a really good job on the cake board, too. I hope that doesn't sound silly. I just think those are the kind of details that really make a cake look really polished.
