I made 125 of these cookies using Royal Icing, gum paste flowers, and luster dust painted on with vodka. This was my first attempt ever, and can say although it was time consuming, I would do it again in a heartbeat :).
HeidiMay..I'm not an expert, but on these, I mixed a small, and I do mean small amount of vodka with luster dust to create a "paint" consistency. You can then just use a small paintbrush to apply to already dried Royal Icing. What I found is if I hate the "paint" too wet, it would start too break down the icing, so work with it until you find the right consistency. Also, I worked in front of a fan so that the vodka would evaporate quickly and the breaking down wouldn't occur. That's what I kno...
