Zoe's 3Rd Birthday - Hello Kitty Cake on Cake Central

Okay this one is a bit gawdy for my usual tastes but it matched the party decorations and Little Zoelette loved it. It started out as a much more adventurous project. I was determined to make the Hello Kitty topper out of cake. I went out and bought the Wilton mini teddy bear mold, and baked up four of them. I started with the first one and cut the face down, peaked the ears, and bobbed the tail off...but then got stuck...(more below)

I couldn't imagine it anymore...so i drove to ToysRUs and bought what you see on the cake. And just goes to show you...it turned out to be Zoe's favorite toy from all the presents, it has changeable outfits. And again the decorations are all made from colored chocolate, but these were using the Wilton Flower and Spring items lollipop molds.

Darling! Wow, those flowers are great too. Were they hard? Oh, I answered a question you asked about my portrait cake. Love this. So cute.

No they are dead easy! You just fill in the molds with the colored chocolates and put them in the freezer for about 5-8 minutes pop 'em out and pop 'em ont he cake.

you can do both. So Michael's sells Wilton chocolates (www.wilton.com) and AC Moore sells Make-N-Mold brand( www.makenmold.com/melt.html). They are white chocolate dyed with color. They come it a variety of colors (red, blue, pink, purple, green, white, orange) they also sell food coloring made for white chocolate that you can use to make more colors. Usually I just blend the basic colors to make what I need. DO NOT use frosting or regular food coloring to dye chocolate. The chocolate will cease a...

Really???? you can get into copyright issues by making a cake for your kid if you reproduce a character? Or is that if you are selling cakes only? I guess it makes sense if you are a bakery...
