Mom's Birthday Cake

Mom's Birthday Cake on Cake Central

My first attempt at royal icing roses. (They came a bit flat. I'll practice more when my hand stops hurting!) Brushing them and the fondant rope trim with pearl dust added a nice little touch, I think. I'm still learning to work with fondant, so it's a bit lumpy and stretched in places. I'd welcome any constructive criticism on how to improve the fondant. Thanks for looking.

Try not to roll the fondant too thin, and smooth your icing underneath, any flaws on the buttercream only shows more once the fondant is applied, your roses are fine and over all the cake is not bad at all, I've made worse!

This cake is georgous-just another example of how creative you are. The roses look quite beautiful and the pale color is so exquisite. The rope is a really nice touch and excellent choice of border.
